Just visited Sunset's website to see if there are any newer pics (nope) but I noticed the new logo with "International" in the title. Has this been there for a while and I've simply missed picking up on it? Is this the first step in NASCAR affiliation? If Sunset is to become a Nascar track this will make for some interesting travelling for Barrie, Sunset and Delaware teams trying to maximize points.

if I remeber correctly I believe Mark said he tried to talk to Nascar about their deal and decided it wasn't right for Sunset at this time.

0 effect on maximizing points for Delaware cars, delaware runs LM, sunset runs limiteds.

The "international" doesn't have to mean anything...just a slight name change. I'd hazard a guess that the name change is due to tax reasons.

Delaware has seen 4 or 5 name changes in its history. Brodie's Delaware Speedway, Delaware International Speedway, Delaware Speedway Park, and its current name is just Delaware Speedway.

Never quite understood why racetracks would put "international" in their titles, but it likely has nothing to do with NASCAR.

As far as NASCAR inter track racing goes, each track stands unto itself as far as rules. It's just a league. NASCAR or no, you can still only race at tracks where your car is legal. Stephen Matthews ran both Delaware and Barrie and needed 2 different cars to do it. (Funny though...Robblee won the Ontario Province championship without leaving Delaware. Matthews ran both Barrie and Delaware full time....twice as many races.... and only managed 5th.)

So as long as you're running great and your home track car count is good, you don't need to go anywhere.

I would tend to think however that Sunset management may have their eye on a NCATS race.  I can't think of any other reason they would go through the expense of building a pit road for regular Sat nite racing.
