WALTERS #88 LOL + 1 , You have no idea how hard I am LOL my wife thinks I,m nuts.
I have printed for the speedway since I started racing there 5 years ago. That season the program was dropped because of the expense to produce it. People just weren't buying them and the kids had to hock them like a carnival worker. I remember one time when I was a spectator they were selling the previous weeks version for half price.
Glenn chose to go to a new format of a pre printed sheet and imprint the standings each week which turned out much cheaper. Every year the size of that went down to it's current state (if it is still being done) to a letterhead size sheet of paper printed on a colour copier each week.
As I sat in my mobile home in the great town of Sudbury I was wondering what ever happened to the Sunset Speedway Program? If they come back I promise I will buy one.
All you have to do is drive 2 1/2 hours west to Laird Speedway, one of the few tracks left that still have a program.
Have a season and mid season program available at the tracks concession stand. That would be good for the sponsors and drivers. Plus you wouldn't have to make copies of new programs each and every week.! Kind of like the Canadian Tire Series program that cam with inside track.
Sauble has a nice program . . .
Cost? Don't sponsors pay for ads? Shouldn't that cover costs?
