when you get black flagged you lose all points for that race, unless it is a mechanical black flag.

yes but that rule tends to differ from track to track...

Walters only lost the points for that feature only..... This gave Chris the 10 point advantage.  Don't forget Chris won both features.
Going into the run with double features Walters had 1271 points and Morrow had 1212.
The first events run counting as Sept 13th's rain out Walters only obtained 41 points taking his total to 1312 and Morrow gained 104 taking his total to 1316.  So after the first feature Morrow had the lead going into the heats and the second feature.  During that race Walters got a total of 98 points added to his previous total equals 1410.
Morrow obtained 104 points again giving him a total of 1420.

Hence Morrow leads the points by 10.

Walters received the black flag with driver misconduct attached to it because he was told straight out by the pit official not to enter the track, then again by the official standing on the on/off ramp.  Walters then  proceeded to enter the track and in the rule book this warrants an immediate black flag.  When Walters entered the track he ignored the initial black flag thrown at him and it took him two laps to get back off the track.  Blatently disregarding track officials warranted the misconduct added to the black flag = no money no points for that event.

As a vetran driver of Sunset Speedway he knows that rule better than anyone........

+1 Deb...could not have said that any better and i believe that rule has been around since the Slaughters owned the speedway am i correct...or did it exist when the shakells owned it as well?

Cheers

Mike

Deb, thanks for clearing that up, I'm happy to learn that rebel77's  statement about Walters losing all points for the night is false.

Guys I know your all anxious for the points, and I understand but with Saturday being the last night I am making dang sure they are right.

I have been going over the top 10 in each division.  The points are very very close and I have found some things and corrected them.  So bare with me I hope to finish up tonight and have them to Al tomorrow for the web-site.

I don't want to post one number then have someone say how come if there is something I do find I want it found now and posted right.

Note:  This involves going thru every score sheet lap by lap for 40 cars from the beginning.  Because when these guys finish out the season I want everyone to be in their correct order.

Thanks
Deb

Deb   Dont get me wrong but had he not already left the track and came back on a couple times already and as i sit in the pits i did see him come into the pits and pull a peice of a fender off and head right back out not realizing the race had just stated. I really dont think he was paying much attention to anything or anybody  as he came back on the track but he definatelly came right off when they told him to. How can this track official from the pits make a driver misconduct call when walters probably never even saw him. I enjoy watching walters race and for this official to make such an assuming call is just rediculous.I hope walters is done racing at sunset as i know i'll never be back.
