Yes, I have a high end 8G card in the cam. (10 mins of HD footage per Gig). I believe it's an overheating issue also, as a few other times the camera stops recording. Any footage is a bonus, just having some fun with it.

Check the manual of the camcorder. There's a few possibilities. Overheating can be caused by several very "odd" reasons, among them;
Battery cycles. Some batteries, when nearing their useful life limits radiate excessive heat, transferring to the body of the camcorder. That causes processing problems, including even voltage to the graphics / digital processor (often referred to as DSP's). If you have a back up battery that has gone through 100 + charging cycles, it maybe time to replace it. New Gen batteries useful recharging cycles are maxed out by Charge #275 to #300, even if it's only a 50% recharge. The 'cycle' is considered anytime a portion of the battery is taking on addition electrical storage. It's not considered a battery 'memory' problem, only that the usable lifespan of the battery is being consumed. The longest I've seen low voltage Ni-cad, and other Lithium batteries last is 450 recharge cycles without any impact to device performance.
Some manufacturer's don't last half that long before the batteries collapse. Google your camcorder's model along with the keyword battery and you'll see if others have had similar issues.
Another issue is compatibility of some memory cards and the 'formatting' of it, potentially adding some processing cycles from the DSP inside the camcorder to the card for storage. And example of that is if you use any delete command from a computer / laptop *instead* of the camcorders delete command, it may conflict with the file allocation table that's been indexed on the memory card. The reason this may happen is because the operating system inside the camcorder is sometimes different structure than what you are using on your computer. This is often referred to as FAT16, FAT32 or NTFS for windows machines (File Allocation Table and New Technology File System) in addition to interoperability challenges that sometimes occurs with Apple computers.
If you have been deleting files with the computer command, that may explain why sometimes the camcorder is lagging in recording and potentially causing some heating problems since it is taking longer to record to the memory card.
The videos you have been producing are awesome and high quality (resolution) with good camcorder control and editing. You are approaching high performance professional grade production standards - keep up the great work!
thanks Benjamin, I was hoping for a bit more of Rob in the view, but it came out not too bad. Would have included a bit more footage, but ran out of memory card space due to the 2 red flags.
nevermind more of Rob I wanna see more of that 17 LLM thats a sweet ride 🙂 and a awfully ah lets say ruggedly handsome driver
Where was the supposed rough driving by the 47 car??? I watched both the pass of Morrow and Poole and I see notta,zilch, zero that would indicate either one of those moves were rough passing or dirty driving in the least!! Does the vid not do it justice or something???
And awesome job Dan!!! Thanks for posting buddy

Is this the #17 LLM that you want to see more of. 😀

Glad to know that No One was seriously injured. Save some sheet metal.
