Very true and I think everything you said here is a good point. Printing rules up in a rulebook at the beginning of the year - good start as that way the drivers have them to hold on to. But a booklet as you said is definately even better so that way we don't run into issues such as having drivers that don't know curtain things.
And you're right - the management should open up and let us make our suggestions. With our suggestions, it's not like we're trying to make things worse - we're trying to help make 'em better and therefore they should allow that as isn't the overall goal to make this one of the best tracks in Ontario?
As much as I tired to leave this last post alone I just couldnt do it. Not to be the berrer of bad news/a gloomy Gus if you will, but if your trying to make Sunset one of the better tracks in Ontario I'd say that ship done passed you by in 1987 or so. Does anyone remember the days when Walters, Tom Milligan, Don Hawn, Peter Gibbons, Rod Sauder, and Ron Tracey were all regular runners there??? Now that was great racing, and you never knew who was coming home with the feature win on any given night.... Now not so much so. Case in point is that since Walters made the move at the middle of last season only 4 cars have managed a feature win at Sunset. ( Witty and Parsons each grabbed one win this season) Other than that every single feature has been won by Chris or Tommy. I would hardly call that competitive racing or a strong field. And now with Parsons not running there regular apparently, that problem just gets compounded. I just hope the rumors of the potential doing away of the LLM (Speedway Suicide) are true, cause that could mean at least a half dozen more good racers for Barrie!!LOL But if you want to start improving things #1 on the list has to be repaving!! I only speak for myself but I dont like watching 14-15 Late Models race when I feel I should be timing laps with an hour glass instead of a stopwatch. Thats how bad that surface has become. The track itself is an awesome configuration and if repaved would really make for some awesome racing with the wide straightaways Sunset has. Now that being said, I applaud people like Spencer, Brendan, Al, and yourself Ashley for doing all you can to promote Sunset and make it a better place. Some good ideas and the new website is excellently put together. People like those I mentioned are the lifeblood of that place and I encourage all of you not to give up the passion for Sunset that I once had myself!! And I know you all are going to say if I dont like it dont watch the races there, and believe me until the repaving happens I wont!!!LOL
I say Spencer comes to barrie to announce with Dave!! could you imagine!! It would be non stop entertainment and the wednesday rogers shows would be 10fold!! I mean even just Brendan and his Fireproof Brendometers coming to Barrie adds some entertainment value!.....Somewhere on this website he and Joe Ficker are becoming best friends!! LOL You could get Al to work with Mike and you would get such a great variety of action shots!! It would be the Dream Team at Barrie! (Spencer and Dave, Brendan?, Al and Mike)
Brendan could always be Dave Vokey's ugly troll slave!! that would suit him good! and his nipples are fireproof!

You do make a good point about the LLM feature wins this season and as far as getting rid of the LLM, I've heard of that being more than just a rumor. I've heard of getting rid of them for open-wheeled modifieds.
And thank you for applaud us on keeping our spirit. I mean, that's something that I don't wanna lose regardless as Sunset is a place that I grew going to as a little kid and something that I don't wanna see go away. It's just something for me that I was grew with going to the race track every Saturday night as a kid and I don't wanna lose that. I've got too many memories at Sunset with too many people. That's the reasoning behind my spirit!
