The insurance policy actually states cars can only go one way or the policy is void? Man, I would be looking for better coverage then that.
They better talk to Varney's insurance man....cars go every which way and boat parts could end up in the stands there from what I've read.
Sounds like a great way to weed out cheaters. They use to do that at some enduros years ago so guys wouldnt set up their frontends.
The safety issue isn't with which way they run on the track. It lies within the car itself.
I've never in all my years of racing seen such a poor pathetic excuse of a race car in my life. Mandatory should be a FULL rollcage.
Apparently the girl last night had one and look at the injuries incured by her. (hopefully not too serious). A driver was killed at Sunset a few years back and his car was fully equipped with all the safety equipment available and his car was set up solely for Sunset.
But even with this all in place a freak accident happened and took his life.
So all you 4 for fun guys/gals the safety issue doesn't lie on which way you race around a speedway. It's in how the car is built and designed to take impact etc............
If your not cheating then your car should travel around the track in either direction the same way!!!!!!!
well if Wes said too many cars cheating then obviously the Tech dept. ain't looking hard enough to find the cheats that these guys are pulling off or too much favoritism
No that's not what I said.........
Why are they complaining so bad.
And this thread was about safety??
And favortism is on the bottom of the list. If the car was designed to move up you could bump up the fast cars.
It's like all the other divisions, you have a certain amount of drivers who run the front of the pack week in and week out. This does not mean favortism it means dedication and time and money put into the car. half those 4 fun guys/gals leave their cars in the infield during the week. Now that's dedication????
The track walls and barriers are designed to handle cars going counterclockwise only - there are some abrupt concrete wall ends that will make a car come to a complete stop much too fast, be it a Four Fun or a Super Late. Most tracks are like that. The track just isn't designed for a direction change, and insurance will not allow that.
And yes, I agree the cars are low on safety - so that just compounds the problem.
