I agree 100% with the jumping the resart. Before Chris got into Tom, that was my immediate reaction. And sure enough, if you watch the video, Tom crossed the white line before Chris did.
Watch any other video posted previously and count how many times a car jumps the restart,not once did the starter throw the black flag. I do believe this is now setting president for any car jumping a restart in the future,will these cars be black flagged also,or is the black flag only reserved for the 47.Why is it that any other driver is shown a warning but the 47 is immediately black flagged. If at all possible could Mark Dilley,Steve Slaughter or any other official please give us loyal sunset race fans an explaination as to the use of the black flag in this particular instance and will all drivers now be shown the black for equal offences from now on.
+100 for Alan evans.......you are absolutely correct. IMO neither of the starters should be flagging the lm races due to they both have a conflict of interest. As for Walters jumping the start.......on a restart you are prepared for the green to come when you hit the white line.......if the pole car skips, screws up, takes a hard left, or has a tire going down....don't tell me there is ANY racer out there that is gonna sit back and wait for the leader to spit some dust at them!!! Reatlity is......the light went green and they went....trying to keep pace with the car beside you is not an easy task when you are watching for the green and all cars behind you. Never in all my years at Sunset have I seen a car get sent to the back for being a fender ahead at the restart!!!! This is simply the starter abusing his authority, and ignorance. Walters....love him or hate him....he got robbed of a win...its not the first time and doubt it will be the last, but he puts on a show for the fans, and I haven't seen one kid that doesn't like him. Hopefully the management at Sunset will relieve some employees and replace them with someone who can do the job to the best of their ability, without being biased or even an invested interest in who wins!!!!!
As I said before all the officials at Sunset are a joke. They don't deal with anything correctly, and tech or should I say lack there of is a joke.
Sorry guys I'm not a Tom Walters fan ! But watching that video i will agree the 47 got screwed . Yes the start was jumped, Morrow had a tire going down, the starter should have waved off the restart not given a black flag. Personal observation another incident in Morrow's bad luck for the season.
