Why is it that Dan Coates officiates the late models and Jeff Slaughter the other divisions.

After his fine job with the Late Models this weekend I think The Late models would welcome a switch and see Jeff Slaughter flag them.

i dunno i think the flagman in question kinda has a showmanship about him....thats what my issue is. i think sometimes his choices maybe influenced based on the reaction he is looking to see from the crowd, drivers and crew.... and i think he likes the control of the outcome of the race.... which shouldnt be the case....however i cant imagine how it is to be the one to make some choices they have to make.....but if every track followed a simple rule IF YOU ARE INVOLVED YOU GOTO THE BACK....whether or not your the leader, down 40 laps, or Jeff Gordon. that takes most of the input of the flagman or other officials..... now as per black flags there isnt much you can do the flagman will make the call.......its a tough job to do...like a referee in hockey...make a call and ten people wanna kill you....and ten love you.....just my two cents

The officials at sunset are about as useful as a bag of hammers. Week in week out so many things are let go because of who is involved, i.e. jump restarts, aggressive driving, intentional wrecks. The officiating at Sunset is a joke at best. I am pretty sure the flag men are blind. Not to mention I am sure they have been told by the higher ups who they can and cannot give the blag too, if they give it to anyone at. The starter has to be careful with the black flag because if he does ever use it, they will have to throw a caution because the drivers wont be able to see due the all the dust on the track. The track needs to find someone that can use his own judgement and not be pushed around the other officials and the drivers.
