Nascar informed Teams last week that Mufflers will be mandatory at the first race of the year in Quebec and at Delaware Speedway.
According to a reliable source, the open test at Delaware last week only had 1 car pass the noise level even though everyone had mufflers on.
There way a wide arrange of muffler manufactures used, including the old Cascar Mufflers, but still left only one car passable on the noise level.

The only difference in these cars from the Cascar days of exhaust systems is the fact that they have allowed the cars to step up the header size of pipe which could be the only reason for the failure in noise levels.

Based on the mandated noise levels allowed, the Series could be back on Mufflers full time once the other tracks find out what is going on with these two tracks and don't be surprised if a Mandated Muffler is brought in by Nascar themselves, one which will more then likely be way over priced in order to feed the poor France family.

What do you think...Mufflers or NO Mufflers  ??

I think nearly any race fan is going to vote no mufflers.

Unfortunately, no-muffler racing has gone the way of the non-smoking section in Tim Hortons. Its just the way the world is.

They had mufflers on at the Delaware practice? Could have fooled me the cars sounded great! I hope they don't go back to the way they used to be. You need to hear a FEEL these cars to have the whole experience. I vote no mufflers of course but if they have to then they need to find a muffler that meets the standard but doesn't turn the cars into tuners.

Its more that the track that they race require a certain max noise level.  We in the NASCAR Camping World West have to do that as well and run mufflers at some tracks.  Even at the Toyota All Star Showdown at Irwindale you have to run mufflers on the cars.  In the West series there is no muffler rule just that you need to be under the set decible level stated on the entry blank which is a requirement from the track.
