ricks car is a old gen body on a next gen chassis. technically not legal because he is not running the small peice of firewall required by barrie .in my opinion it should be all cars under one set of rules.
+1 this has to be changed... Rick also has the 'glass hood which we were expicitly told we were not allowed to run on the '84 Monte body...
thanks for the measurements on roof height. i know its better to have a lower roof, just wanted to know so we didn't build one with a low roof and be told to change it, thats all. as for glass hoods, why does that matter if you have one or not, doesnt make a huge difference, other then they are easier to fit, less bow in the hood over the air cleaner, also a little bit lighter, wow.
what do you guys think of an appearance rule? like delaware has, they have the best looking thunders around....
We dont really have an apearance rule per se, other than no "battered" race cars. If you look like you just been through a demolition derby, then they tell you to clean it up. Likewise with the paint. Primer grey with a spray painted number will not fly.
Other than that, the numbers have to be a minimum 20 inches high, 3 inches wide, and contrasted to the color of the car...and you have to keep the front fenders clear for NASCAR contingency stickers.
Thats all there is to it. Frankly, most of the guys go above and beyond the rules as far as appearance goes, so we really do have a pretty sweet looking bunch of cars.
i know you guys dont really have one, i did read the rules, its like an unwritten rule, but its nice to see the guys do go above and beyond to keep the cars clean, i do a lot of travelling and delawares thunders do look the best. just trying to get that to happen up here, not saying the cars look bad, just some guys need to put more effort into making thier cars look more presentable. delaware has been to known to always have the best looking cars, and the racing is very clean, and i swear that has something to do with it, they dont want to spend all week doing bodywork.
I think Barrie does alright Josh? Sure, we have a few that aren't kept up but most are pretty good looking i think!
