Tony's Newman - Haas team can't buy a set of tires that work...........
Goodyear got spanked again by Tony on Speed tv after Newman's RR tire exploded in turns 3 & 4 (blew off the entire rear quarter) and Stewart with nowhere to go, being right behind his team mate, collided with Newman, during the last practice session today. They have chewed up 3 cars at Daytona and are now running Tony's back up car and Tony's California back up car for Ryan Newman. The boys are gonna be busy with the vinyl wrap tonight as the 5th car is in red Old Spice / Office Depot colours and will have to be converted to Black U.S. Army colours, which is clearcoated! Those guys are gonna be wiped tonight. Let alone seat adjustments. For those that don't have Speedtv, there's only 45 minutes of practice time left and Tony's scrambling to see if he can get his back up car out there to see what adjustments are needed. Tally up about 300 grand in race cars chewed up - so far.....
Tony's going out in his back car that ran in the Bud Shootout and it's been banged up from that race.

did the tire appear to delaminate like others?
Newman said he could feel it go about 100 yards before it blew and was starting to slow up to get to the apron. Hard to say if it was cut or delaminated. Apparently others have been having problems with their RR down there this week but they seem to be keeping a lid on that ???
Watch Tony win in the Back Up. I seen many drivers do this. Newman is a different story he is using a 3rd car.
