The car in question got caught with oversize valves. This should not be considered an oversight this is a planed cheat between owner of car and the engine builder or said car should tell everyone what builder ripped him off if he asked for a legal build . The one you are talking about from earlyer in year may have been ford lowers on a camaro clip.this owner was told he had to use comaro lowers (@rules meeting)and he put on the ford anyway this car did not place when he was told to change by tech  anyone not at sauble last year should know the fear of being caught cheating went away when the tech man quit and it became rampant until you guessed it the tech guy came back (not sure if begged by Jason or not) and started busten guys starting with the ford lowers car (his first night back)and more infractions on other cars not everyone knows about(we got told to do something to our car for next week lol) NOW IF YOU LOOK AT 2009 rules (i got a draft copy) all the whiners are to get there own way and the rest of us can now go out and buy ford lowers for our cars and send our heads in for over size valves up to 202 for GM or ford.you sharp guys out there would say use the bolt on gm head for that valve size but the only problem is no one got caught with camel humps on there car last year so there still not allowed .Ma bee i,ll put mine on next year and might get caught(depends who is to tech)then in2010 we can all use them!

Don't worry justracin, soon as everyone gets word of 202 valves and Ford lowers, they will all by crying for them at their home tracks. Soon we can all look forward to that, as your no cam rule has already started to spread "Sauble has them....." (said with the expression of a 5 year old who is having a termper tantrum)

It pathetic that someone with the chassis setup skills to utililze Ford lower control arms, would stay in thunder and not move up a class. Guess its easier to be king of entry class racing rather than step up and challenge teams like Walters, Parson, Morrow ect ect. Kinda pussy if you ask me and or they are just such a piss poor driver, they couldn't win with a stock chassis.

well I guess i should have said but I was talking about the late model  although change the story around a little and I could be talking thunder car .New rules for thunder for 2009@sauble should include the following:Ford 9 inch allowed ,Front fire wall can be fabricated,Max 8 inch rim ,Any stock steel body,Spec motors (crate) with rpm limiters and possibly shortening of right lower control arm ..................sounds to me like a de-tuned challenger from 5-6 years ago those were purpose built race cars and I think if you want the class to stay healthy this is a good direction to take gone are the days when you could take a street stock and move up to thunder there just isn,t many left and new pure stock classes are building newer styles of cars IE:so called new gen cars .Hey are there any tracks that still run challenger?lol will we ask the same of thunder cars in 5 or 6 years?

Sure why not. I'm sure everyone has a spare $1,000 burning a hole in their pocket they really wanted to drop on aftermarket heads just to keep up...

Why make this so slow and painfull. Take one of the big dollar cheater engines out there, tear it down, and then change ALL the rules to match it, at one time, instead of peice by piece? Then we can all be spending 5,000-10,000 on thunder motors.

Keep making thunders the same as LLM. Can't think of a better way to kill them..
