Jeff Hanley (using a crate engine) was able to get by Glenn Watson on a restart with 2 laps to go to win at Sauble last night. Watson was in control until the late race caution bunched the field together. He ended up 8th after spinning into the corner 3-4 infield on the last lap.

15 cars started, including 2 drivers who made the trip from Sault Ste. Marie, George Wilson and Keith King I believe.  But 5 of the top 10 in OSCAAR points were missing.

Derrick Tiemersma only did one lap in the feature after problems following the heats. The start of the feature was delayed about 15-20 minutes because some of the track lights went out.

The races had been run off well until that time considering 3 rained out Sauble regular class features were added to start the night and kids bike races at intermission. Nice size crowd on hand as Mother Nature provided a great night for racing. Most stayed until the end of the OSCAAR feature just after 11:30 pm.

Side Note: Apparently there were 28 Limited Late Models in the pits last Saturday June 12 at Sauble before the rains washed out the show. Sauble has been drawing 20-24 LLM most nights according to track regulars.  They had last night off.

My 2010 Race Count: 18

My 2010 Track Count:  9 - New Smyrna (FL), Toledo (OH), Merrittville (ON), Ransomville (NY), Flamboro (ON), Delaware (ON), Sauble (ON), Sunset (ON), Ohsweken (ON)

28 !! Holy cannolis! that's a lot of cars that didn't get to run. Likely had some 'extra's that also run OSCAAR, such as Watson (09) and Baker (48) and Gallant (40).

Yes the Sauble LLM count has rebounded nicely compared to the past few seasons..Good competition too with the likes of Parker, Wright, MacDonnell, Kamrath and Tyler Williams.. I sure hope I can get up there once this year when the Limiteds are running..

After watching the Sunset Video LM Model June 19th race and seeing Baker (48) and the 9 of Watson there, left me wondering if they decided to park their Super Lates and stay in the points hunt at Sunset instead of travelling to Sauble to run the OSCAAR event. *shrug* ...

How Sauble got 28 LLM is amazing, because Sunset's field was also full. Like I said, too bad they didn't get to run 🙁

Yea it was a good night of racing. For once mother nature dident stop the show. It would have been nice to have the LLM there with the car count we had last weekend, 24 to 28 LLM. But who knows how late the show would have gone. To bad Lloyd runing (one of the two orange blossom special's that the ritchie guys brought out) was getting to impatient with his super late, spining himself out for the lead and getting put to the back where things whent from bad to worse with guys spinning the tires on restarts.
