Arca trucks were at Sauble Speedway on June 27th and the top 3 were
1)Steve Christman -Ft, Wayne Indiana
2)Paul Hahn-Canton Michigan
3)Mike Young-Toledo Ohio
Sad thing about this is that only 11 trucks showed up to race out of which looks like 8 finished the 100 lap race.Question do you (the fan) blame the track for the poor turn out of series cars or trucks to your track as has been shown this year with Sauble ,Delaware (AVSS) just to name a few.if putting blame on anybody it should be to the touring series they are the ones that bring their cars or trucks to your track to race.If they (series) are telling the tracks that x number car or trucks will be there to race they should be held to it.Nothing worst for the fans is to go see these series cars only to be disappointed by the car counts. Will this change tracks minds of bring in race series from the USA in years to come that could be a good posibilty as it costs big money to bring these in groups in and with the way car counts are is it really worth it.This is not just happeneing just on asphalt but dirt also.
You would think there is a stipulation in contracts for minimum car count. If not there should be but it would be a cash thing I would think and the show would still go on. You would also think that the individual teams in the touring series have a contractual obligation to show up to X number of races. Having said that though I would assume the economic times have something to do with it also. Look at the IRL race in Richmond last night. Only 20 cars. One thing I do know is that if these touring series don't get the car counts up then people just won't show to watch in the future.
Does Sauble have a truck series? If so should of had a double card and filled the field with local regulars. Forget about the rules!
sauble doesnt have a truck series.....heard 2 or 3 trucks didnt get passports in time and couldnt make it....good crowd last night...just too bad there wasnt more trucks..
they have 31 drivers registered but most theyve had out for a race was 18 according to web info.
delaware has trucks, too bad they couldnt run together...maybe if the thundercar #'s drop it would be something to consider
