He drove the No. 17 CRX for all she had in her throughout the night, finishing second in each of the races. Entering the night 10 points behind the leader, he was able to close the gap – but not enough to take the title home as he fell just two points shy of accomplishing the ultimate goal.

While it wasn’t the title year that he envisioned, Bridge will leave the beach with his head held high as there was tons of success to be had, including six feature victories. It is also worth noting that the season wasn’t easy, with having to overcome mechanical issues to make a charge at the championship.

Bridge’s season isn’t over yet, either, as there’s still another championship up for grabs. He currently leads the Great Lakes Concrete Series standings by a single point over Warren Paxton with two races left to go. The first of those will take place this Sunday, September 16 at Sunset Speedway, with the sixth and final on Sunday, September 23 at Sunset Speedway.

Kevin Bridge Racing is proud to be supported by LiUNA, Coldwell Banker – Kincardine, UPI Energy, Spira Fire Protection, Permatex, Huronview Insurance Brokers Ltd., Daniel Kelley Custom Cabinetry, Gilcreest Speed and Custom, and Castrol.

Be sure to keep up on all the happenings this season by liking the Kevin Bridge Racing facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Kevinbridgeracing/, and following Bridge on twitter at https://twitter.com/BridgeRacing.

Press Release by Ashley McCubbin/AM Marketing – ashleymccubbin17@gmail.com

He looked to be set to cruise away from the field, but that wasn’t set to be. Marvin Freiburger was able to track him down, with a battle back and forth commencing with 10 laps to go. It would last from there to the checkered, with Spencer-Walt passing Freiburger on the last lap to score the victory.

Starting eighth in the second feature, Spencer-Walt began moved up to fifth in the early stages, where he’d remain until an incident happened up ahead of him with two laps to go, which he’d miss to move up to third. Restarting inside the top-five, he’d battle hard in the closing laps en route to a third-place finish.

The pair of podiums from Saturday night just add to the numbers as Spencer-Walt has picked up eight wins and 18 top-fives in his last 18 races at Sauble Speedway and Sunset Speedway, combined.

This season isn’t over yet, either, as Spencer-Walt still has a chance at winning a second championship. The Eldon Wallis-owned team will make the trek down to Sunset Speedway on Sunday, September 16 and Sunday, September 23 for the final two rounds of the Great Lakes Concrete Series. Spencer-Walt currently leads that standings, eight points ahead of Jordan Lawrence.

Spencer-Walt Motorsports is proud to be supported by Gohydrovac.ca, Jim Wilson Chevrolet, Auto Trim Design, Byer’s Equipment Motorsports, Orser Technical Services, Heidi’s RV Superstore, GreenSteelRoof.ca, HOTC, Speedy Auto Glass Orillia, Frame Shop Huntsville, Speedy Auto Machine, Red Castle Performance, and EPIC Racewear.

Keep up with Rick Spencer-Walt and Spencer-Walt Motorsports by liking their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Walt-Motorsports/524817640964689?fref=ts and following Rick Spencer-Walt on twitter at https://twitter.com/Rwalt31.

Press Release by Ashley McCubbin/AM Marketing – ashleymccubbin17@gmail.com

He’d begin moving forward immediately, passing Marvin Freiburger for third on Lap 9. followed by a pass mid-way to get up into second. With Andrew Gresel out to a half-track lead, Spencer-Walt was unable to run him down, crossing the finish line with a runner-up finish.

Starting seventh in the second feature, he would get hung up in traffic on the start, though began to make his way forward. Looking for fifth on Lap 7 on Jason Parker, there’d be contact resulting in Parker going around for the spin. As a result, Spencer-Walt was sent to the back for the restart. Restarting from the tail of the field, he’d make his way up to fifth with 20 laps to go, followed by a pass on Thayne Hallyburton shortly after to move into fourth. He’d track down the next car for third, but was unable to complete the pass, crossing the finish line with a fourth-place finish.

With the latest results, Spencer-Walt has now posted seven wins and 16 top-fives in his last 16 races at Sauble Speedway and Sunset Speedway, combined.

The pair of top-fives will allow Spencer-Walt to keep the track points lead as he entered the night leading Jason Parker by six points. There is only one night remaining, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 8.

Before then, though, Spencer-Walt will be in action at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, August 25 for the fifth round of the Great Lakes Concrete Series. For Wilson, it marks his season-best in a year that has been plagued by bad luck since the beginning in May at Sunset Speedway.

Wilson will not get any time to relax, though, as he will be at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, August 18 for his next race behind the wheel of the No. 69 Outlaw Midget. It is a fan appreciation night so be sure to come down during the on-track autograph session to say hello to Wilson.

He will then head to Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, August 25 behind the wheel of his OSCAAR Modified once again.

Wilson’s efforts are supported by The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, Have1.com, Larry’s Small Engines, and Wix Filters. The day started off strong as he would finish fourth in his lone qualifying heat.

Starting fourth in the feature, he’d battle side-by-side with Warren Paxton in the early stages, before taking the third spot where he’d remain until the back half of the race, where he was able to get by Daniel Montanari for second with seven laps to go. The battle would go right down to the wire for podium spots, though, with Paxton passing Bridge with two laps to go. Though despite dealing with a tight condition on entry to the corner throughout the event, Bridge would cross the finish line with a third-place finish.

The finish allows Bridge to head into the final two events of the Great Lakes Concrete Series with the points lead, with the first of those taking place on August 25 at Sunset Speedway. Bridge will be back in action sooner than though, as the Mini Stocks are on the schedule for regular points racing at Sauble Speedway on Saturday, August 11.
