thanks Danka - i vacuum the camera (really),
and even then the honest answer is no...
I'm always torn between standing in the infield
where the light is best for photos, and where
the wind is blowing the dust clouds away from me.

There wasn't much dust that night anyway. 😉

Yeah, I kinda figured the dust wasn't as bad from the infield. I stood near turn 2 and my poor camera was covered, and so was every car in the parking lot.  😮  Considering it rained the day before of the WoO a few weeks ago, I couldn't believe the dust.

I think i got dirt inside the camera while changing lens, and had to take my rebel to the camera shop to get it 'vacuumed'

Maybe next time I'll sneak into the infield with ya... lol

Thanks again.

Actually Tommy was right - July 4 wasnt as dusty as the ESS/WoO Lm
show you were at (see pic below from June 20).  This was during
a sprint heat, after the track had taken a beating from the Outlaw
Late Models and Sprints.
The infield can be almost as bad as outside, but it is usually better.
There is always 1 end of the track that is better than the other.

After a dirt show, i carefully vaccum the camera, then spend 20-30
minutes for each camera cleaning it with a slightly damp j-cloth,
before i remove a lense.  Even doing this, i still get dust on
the sensor from time to time.

yep, that's the haze I remember...

Thanks for all the 'dirt' on shooting pics at Oshweken 🙂

I think I got dirt on the sensor as I didn't clean the outside too well, and when I broke the seal, thats when the specks started showing up on my rebel's images. I'll be more careful on my next visit!
