NASCAR Canada Series Returns to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the WeatherTech 200

(Bowmanville, ON) – August 27, 2025 – The NASCAR Canada Series returns to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) this Labour Day Weekend for the WeatherTech 200, set for Sunday August 31. The historic road course will host the final road race of the 2025 season as 28 drivers go head-to-head in a pivotal championship round.

This marks the second CTMP stop of the year. Back in May, the season opener at the track delivered an action-packed start to the season. Marc-Antoine Camirand set the tone early behind the No. 96 Paillé Racing Chevrolet, topping practice before going on to win the race. Kyle Steckly claimed pole position driving the No. 22 MBS Motorsports/Sierra Excavating/APC Chevrolet but was forced to retire early, while Gary Klutt secured second place at his home track in the No. 59 Autologic/Hofman Plastics Dodge, and Malcolm Strachan earned a career-first podium finish in the No. 98 Curb Records/Darkhorse Trailers/Strode’s Ford, marking a milestone for Jim Bray’s long-standing organization. All return this round with eyes on the win.

Several drivers will be ones to watch this weekend, including Kevin Lacroix, who set the CTMP lap record in qualifying last year with a blistering 1:21.809 behind the wheel of the No. 74 NAPA Racing/Valvoline Chevrolet. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin also enters as a serious contender at CTMP in the No. 47 WeatherTech/Bellemare/Omnifab Dodge, while Connor Bell rides the momentum of his breakthrough Calabogie victory as he attempts to go two-for-two in limited starts this season in the No. 3 Dymon Foundation/Eastrock Equipment/Nepean Building Chevrolet. Hometown driver Sam Fellows is also set to compete behind the wheel of the No. 87 AER/PolySleep Chevrolet, and Jack Polito will make his NASCAR Canada Series debut in the No. 24 Polito Ford/Akers Auto Glass Lindsay/OK Tire Lindsay/Cathcart Trucking Ford.

Defending champion Marc-Antoine Camirand leads the standings with 327 points, aiming to become the first back-to-back champion in the NASCAR Canada Series history. Andrew Ranger sits second with 315 points in the No. 27 Paillé Chevrolet, followed closely by D.J. Kennington with 312 points in the No. 17 Castrol Edge/Brimstone Games/CIM Metals Dodge, and Kevin Lacroix with 301 points. With four races left on the schedule, every lap at CTMP will matter in the quest for the title.

Saturday’s on-track activities will start at 12:40 p.m. with practice, followed by qualifying at 4:45 p.m. Sunday’s WeatherTech 200 will take place at 2 p.m. Catch all the action live on REV TV and TVA Sports 2, with tape-delayed broadcasts on TSN
