It may have taken this long to hit this forum, but it's been boiling all winter on the GBS Forum to the point track management has started censoring some posts!

All things being said I think that it should be said that GBS is one of the finest places that a young racer can begin at. There are countless racers with a great deal of fondness, gratitude and memories racing there. It is not an easy job to run a race track on this scale and it is not Bristol Tenn, there should be understanding in that. It is not fair to put down one track and buildup another with only 1 person calling the shots. Many track operators will tell you it is not an easy task to have reliable and good help often putting a tremendous load on themselves. Racers you will have your good days and you will have your bad with good reasoning you can understand others do too.
Shadow must be tough on you when the Sun goes down don't worry it's April 2 tomorrow.

GBS was a great place to race as our eight years there attests. The pot began to simmer after a management change a couple of years back and reached boiling point last year. The consistency with rule interpretation and enforcement that had been the benchmark at GBS was replaced by heat of the moment decisions that lacked due consideration for the implications.

"Wreckers or checkers" and "settling scores(a la Carl Edwards)" accurately describe what transpired. it is very hard to reign things in once they get out of hand and that is especially true when there doesn't appear to be the will. Little has been done over the winter to suggest this year will be any different.

We too are "done" for this year. We'll watch and hope GBS can get back to what it once was.
