Wilson had planned to drive both his Pro Midget and Midget on the night, but engine troubles with the Pro Midget kept it from making it on track for the heats and feature.

Meanwhile, he placed third in his first heat with the midget, followed by a DNF in the second qualifier after losing the chain. The feature would not go smoothly, with the car feeling as though it was really dragging badly, but Wilson was able to drive it home to a third-place finish.

Wilson would like to thank the 31k team, Rob Summers, Charles, Jason Wilds, Mike March, and Tony Herremans for their help in trying to get the Pro Late Model out.

Wilson will be back behind the wheel of his Outlaw Midget at Sunset Speedway on July 15. The month is busy from there on out, with OSCAAR Modified events at Kawartha Speedway (July 21) and Full Throttle Motor Speedway (July 23), followed by his third visit of 2017 to Flamboro Speedway to complete the month on July 28.

It seems the gremlins won’t escape the OSCAAR Pro Midget for Wally Wilson as he once again ran into issues at Grand Bend Speedway.

He started off the day solidly by finishing fourth in his pair of heats, poised to have a strong run in the feature. Unfortunately, the mechanical bugs struck on Lap 3, forcing Wilson pit side and out of the race.

Wally Wilson ran strong once again this past weekend, as he’d post a seventh place finish at Grand Bend Speedway.



Wilson started off the afternoon strongly, finishing fourth and third in his pair of heats. He then started the feature off well, running with the front runners throughout en route to a seventh place finish.



“The feature was full of awesome driving from everyone,” he noted. “Sadly we got cut short five laps because it began to rain.”



Notably while the original plan was to run both the Midget and Pro Midget, Wilson did not take the Pro Midget with him to Grand Bend, but rather chose to focus on fixing the issues from Peterborough Speedway for a safe run later on this month at Flamboro Speedway.

In the London Drive Systems Junior A class - Tyler Fortney won a hard fought battle over Nick Ramsay (2nd) and Ray Morneau (3rd)
The Broadway Services Junior Late Model race saw Dawson Nethercott take the checkered flag, followed by Brody Richwood and David Nethercott. The Tommy's Motors 9HP sprint progam was won by Taner Kaelin with Kyle Mckenzie in 2nd and Shelby Verheyen 3rd.
In our feature classes - The Mike & Terry's No Frills Mini truck race was a real battle as the top 3 were side by side, swapping positions for the last 10 to 15 laps of the 50 lap feature. In the end the win went to Brandon Thurlby, with Scott Schloendorf taking 2nd and Shawn Thompson 3rd.
The Inaugural Bos Auto Legends race presented by Mccoll Racing Enterprises was similar to the truck race as twelve competitors from Ontario, Michigan and even Kentucky swapped postions using the entire track to get the job done. At the finish David Beatty was able to hold off Jake Dunmore for the win, with Cole D Landan coming in 3rd.
