I thought you guys axed it, not him...
Just for the record, Tony is one of the very best men you will ever meet in the World of Motorsports and deserves to be in the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame without a doubt. To tell you the truth, he would be a candidate for the American Motorsports Hall of Fame, and if put there, would have to be put on top of every person that had anything to do with keeping racing alive.
People would bash Tony, including Racer's, and it used to tick me off, because not one of them ever took into consideration what the Man had done for racing in Canada, instead would shoot there mouths off, and to me they always came across as dummy's.
Every Race Fan and Team can thank Tony for sticking it out when times were bad, as he never faltered once or led Teams down a garden path. His word was his word, and that was inspiring to see a Man conduct his business, at times even though he was loosing money, but always kept a positive projection on life and Racing.
I cannot count how many times Tony and Linda would complete a payout purse even though they got burned from a Sponsor or a Track Promoter. Even to the end, Tony took care of the CASCAR Racing Teams because CASCAR was his baby and the Racers were his family.
If the guy wanted to run for President I would be the first to vote for him.
For Race Fans and Race Teams that had the honor of working with Tony, just remember you experienced something that most people don't ever get the chance to and that is why the guy is a legend in Canadian Motorsports, one of the best people you will ever meet, and accomplished more then most will ever get the opportunity to do so in Racing.
Tony is now 67 years old, and wears his age as if he was 45. Amazing when you think of all the stress, the hardships, and the obstacles he had to through, he could still stand tall above the rest in order to accomplish the Title,
Mr. Racing !!!
I have raced in allot of Racing Series and I have met allot of people in Racing over the past 30 years, but you will be hard pressed to ever find another Tony Novotiny.
From this Fan.... Thanks Tony, your still a class act, along with your wife Linda !!! Dave D.
i have gotten to know tony in the last couple of years and always felt that he was someone whose word i could take to the bank. the last cascar west race was held at my home track acms in 06 and he had alot to do with how the west tour was set up. both the oss and west tour were built on the sweat of his labour of many years. i also know that he did fight hard to have a west and sportsman program for 07 but it was not meant to be. congrats and well deserved to a man who give a ton or racing in Canada.
Geez I just posted this in the spirit of "Hey, one of our own got into the Hall of Fame." Then I come in from work and find this. Never mind.
Congratulations to Tony and Linda. For better or for worse, if it wasn't for Mr. Novotny there'd be no Delaware, no CASCAR and no NCTS.
That's good enough for me.

Tony Novotny might have been good for Cascar but for the weekly racers like ourselves.
In street stock....EDITED FOR VIOLATION OF CoC RULE 1....If you weren't John Saunders or Dave Lawrence or a few others you weren't going to be competitive.Needless to say, we're racing at Grand Bend and haven't looked back.
