Well so that BAR can finally sleep, I'll post a response.  And yes I was at Autumn Colours today and will be back at the track on Sunday.  First and foremost I have and never will claim to have all the answers, my comments are based on what I see as a fan watching the events or what I have heard from drivers/team members and such.  And since I am only a fan I don't have the privilege of having any inside information like yourself BAR who works on one of the teams.  Anyways onto BAR and his request for sponsors that have come on board because of NASCAR.

As you can reread in my original post, Jason said that there were a few new sponsors but that the impact was not where they were hoping it would be.  There's nothing to read between the lines BAR, he wasn't covering his butt to avoid issues with Tech next year (still don't comprehend your theory on that but I'm sure you will help us understand).  He openly and freely spoke his mind.  You are correct I will use the sponsor of Tow Truck in a Box as a response cause you have told me repeatedly that wasn't valid.  I look at the Wal-Mart cars and the UbiSoft car sponsors were they in CASCAR?  And if they were were they as involved then as they are now in the series?  I would also say the A & W sponsorship has come on board more now then when Jason first started in the series.  Haldex was in the series I believe when it was CASCAR but I don't think it was a primary sponsor like it currently is on D. Brown's car.

But my whole point to the issue of new sponsorship in NASCAR here in Canada is this.  Is it where it needs to be to help these teams to further their programs?? NO  But without the sponsors would these drivers still be running in the series? Some would but with a reduced level of committment as I've stated in the past when you disagreed with me using BDI as a sponsor on Micks car.  The quote is in the Inside Track magazine from Kerry, without BDI coming on board as a primary sponsor they may not have been able to run a full season.  I have never once said that it was all because of NASCAR that the sponsors are on the cars, what I said was that with the association to NASCAR the teams were able to use it as a marketing ploy to gain additional support in sponsorship.  There is a big difference in those 2 comments.

In the end BAR we all will have to wait and see what happens with next season for the NCATS.  Will there be the number of teams leaving the series as you have claimed in the past?  Will there be more events and will there be more sponsors associated with those events?  I just wish the season wasn't so short here, cause now we have to wait 7 months or so before the next event on the NASCAR Canadian Tire series.

Sponsors that are involved now in the Nascar series that were not in the last few seasons of Cascar or have increased there presence since the take over.... (correct me where I'm wrong I 'm just going from memory)

Full Throttle
Dickies
A&W (Associate in Cascar)
Tow Truck in a Box
Royal Distributing
Maple Lodge
Beyond Digital (Cascar contingency??)
Allied Steel
Wal-Mart
Ubisoft
Haldex(Associate in Cascar)

Nascar had always said finding the teams sponsors was not in their mandate.  That may change if car counts dip too low we'll see.  It was everyones hopw that the Nascar name would help to sell the sponsorship packages.  Hopefully the reason corporate Canada has been slow to climb on board is that they're just waiting to see numbers that support growth through attendance and ratings on tv and not just lack of interest in this type of marketing.
As well I don't recall seeing Arctic Cat or the Armed Forces on Hathaways car under the Nascar banner.  Hopefully they can be convinced to come back.....
