Just some odds and ends. Some good, bad and ugly.
The Good
Stompin Tom in the flesh. Here he passes Temeirsma early on for the lead. (He worked his way from the back to the front in less than 20 laps.) Near the end, the 31 car (McWhirter?) was pushing him pretty hard. Good race, but the 31 ended up spinning himself on the last lap trying to rub Walters loose.

JR Fitzpatrick. I was trying to figure out if that's Dan Monaghan's car. He started near the back of the B main and went on to win it.

And...the Vintage Mods. Glad I got to see them at least once this year. I just love watching these guys.

Nice retro paintjob on this visiting Thundercar. I wonder who HIS hero was.

SOME BAD 'N' UGLY
1st lap of the 2nd race, which was the Thunder consi/B main. (The guy was OK)

Kenny during race 1. Last thing I heard as I climbed into my car to head home at 8:30 (After finally saying "the hell with this" when it took em' over half an hour to get ten laps in the 2nd LM feature) was "...and the 86 goes hard into the wall"
Wonder where he's gonna race next year.

This is David Elliott after getting spun by Howse, and subsequently hit dead on by the 41. Flam has an interesting rule. If you get black flagged, you go to the back....unless the guy you wrecked is out of the race...then you're out too. Howse was out, as Elliott's rad ruptured.

In all, It wasn't a bad show, but it really dragged. I liked the sort of "racing festival" idea of having features for lots of different divisions, but it kinda backfires when the flagman has the yellow flag welded to his hand all day.
Especially the LM guys, who for the most part couldn't seem to string 2 laps together. Last half of the first LM race was pretty good, as Gary Elliott tried everything to get around the 1st place 27-Burbridge, but had to settle for 2nd. The Vintages were good, as were the minis and Thunders, as far as cautions. The LMs and OSCAAR guys were pretty rough though.
Thunders were awesome as usual. Nice to see Silverthorn Sr. back behind the wheel and picking up 5th place. Notably absent was the 4-Mcllroy car and my fave, the beat up yellow camaro #67. Rusnell wasn't his usual "Rocket" self. Seemed his equipment didn't want to take him any further than 3rd today.
I like the idea of the twin 50s for LMs, but I hated that they had one right at the beginning and one right at the end. It was sorta like getting held for ransom. 2nd LM should have been about halfway through IMO.
As I said, I left before the 2nd LM 50 was over. I was hoping on being outta there by 8, as I had stuff to attend to at home...but no luck. That 2nd LM race was too crazy. Congrats to the Shaw team on the win there.
Snapped this pic of Jay Shaw as they were getting ready for driver intros.

Thats it from me.
Shadow out.
i was wondering myself is fitzpatrick was in monaghans car
Sounds like a wreckfest...
I was a cautionfest with the world's slowest cleanup crew. The first late model race took a hour and a half to complete. The vintage mod was the only race that went well - only one caution.
in the late laps of the limited feature Teresima had the lead by a few car lengths as Stompin Tom was fighting to hold off Mc whiter...Mc whiter got by putting the 47 third... but they both made a charge towards Teresima and as Mc whiter looked like me may get close enough to try for the lead the 7 broke coming out of 4 as mc whiter went low...the 7 almost had the 31 into the dirt as he checked up...and Stompin Tom never took his foot out and claimed the lead...had to be 5 or so laps left at that point...and mc whiter fought back to get on the back bumper of the 47...the 31 seemed to really stick going thru 3 and 4 but as they took the white flag he tried coming out of 2 and lost it...some people said Walters waved to him as he came around on the caution but i didnt see it...that was just one of the highlight races this weekend...i heard the cleanup crew had some new bodies and thats why they were slow...burrows won but didnt dominate like last time, great racing in minis both day...it seemed that out of town thunder cars were takin each other out alot more, except the first wreck in the pic of erin bailey in the 20 sideways and bobby mercer in the 71 on top of the wall, which i didnt see happen...but the last late model feature was brutal....45 minutes for the first 18 laps i was told and an hr and 15 minis i heard to run it...i didnt go down to the late model or osscar pits but i heard there was alot of yelling, jack handles being used in anger and one driver loaded up telling casale his rules for the latemodel race suck and he wont be back...the weather was fantastic all weekend and the sunday crowd was huge and stayed pretty much to the end.
who said they wont be back?
