what is surprising is that they had more late models than thunder cars. (14 vs 13). I live in Burlington and advertising for the track is non existent I guess unless you listen to a certain country station so I've been told.
I was at Sunset's opener last night (18 llms, 19 super stocks, 29 (?) minis and I was amazed to see the number of Flamboro refugees up there. Besides Gary Elliott, his son David was spectating. His grandson Gehrig was in a mini there. Former flamboro runner Mike Bentley wrote off his llm unfortunately. In the super stock (thunder cars) we had ex Flammy guys Nick Roth, Matt Bentley,  Lane Zardo, Randy Rusnelle, Steve Perry and Hamilton's 12 year old Cayden Lapcevich made his debut. Bill and Brad Pearsall are registered there along with Marty Monette but were not ready to race. In the minis, Lisa DeLeeuw participated also. (as an aside, I question how good some of the Hamilton area sponsors like on the #84 mini, are getting any benefit from helping a car running so far from there business locations). It seemed kind of bizarre that a bowling alley in Burlington has a full page ad in the Sunset program. BTW-the mini feature was won by the #74 VW mini (Jones) who is from Burlington and runs at Sauble! Anyways I digress.
Anyone else ever tell their neighbours they're going to Flamboro and they think the horse races? And you may have seen my pet peeve re the tracks marketing-they're having two for one admission nights for residents of Hamilton, Brantford, Galt-Cambridge but somehow have forgotten the 300,000 folks in Oakville and Burlington who are less than half an hr from the track.

Thanks for the results warmachine I moved them to their own post.

See we don't post other sites articles as this is not what CRO does. We get results from the tracks or drivers.

I could see a site posting articles from other sites if they are a blog but CRO is not we are a racing media site like Inside Track.

So I guess the track doesn't do their own articles or race results and this would explain why we don't see anything from them.

We have been supporting Canadian Racing for 13 seasons and we don't and will never piggy back of another magazine or racing sites articles and post them here.

So if they are doing this we will not be posting many things here in this forum.

Evan: I've often felt that if a track posts press releases on a website such as yours, there should be some compensation to help the longevity of the website. I've seen other websites get hijacked (away from the original premise of being a place for fans to exhange thoughts, rumours, lies, ec) to one where the press releases have swamped things and scared away interest in the site. Cheers

I don't feel any tracks or racing series owe me anything. I do this as a hobby and have been doing it for this long as I enjoy racing and there is many other people share in my love for racing in Canada.

See this is where we differ from anyone of the other media outlets. We encourage our members to chat about what they like about the races or tracks they go to and also allow drivers/teams to express themself's.

Other places have tried to do what we do and they see it's not as easy as it looks.

Yes anyone can put up a site and create forums but I have a background in Message Forums for over 25+ years. I ran successfull forums on BBS (Bulletin Board System Using Phone Lines & Modems.) Bell had to wire lines in to my house when I bought my home as I needed 4 Extra Incoming BBS Lines. The boxes are still hidden in my drop ceiling not used now.

I ran a site called TradeNet BBS which was sent all over the would via Fidonet BBS Feeds. Never should have sold it as it did well but I got impatient.

I had a good understanding about what members and guest wanted to see and do on CRO (CascarOnline Formerly know as) before they did as I'm one of them and I knew they way some members would act as I dealt with a lot of people on my BBS as a System Operator.

Members are still amazed how I catch them 1 or more year after they have been banned from the site. I can't tell you how I do it but I can tell you it comes from over 25+ years of being in Computer Communications.

I have was also in Restaurant & Retail Management for over 20 years. So I have dealt with a lot of happy and unhappy customers.

I might not be the most educated when it comes to racing. I'm sure not a techie on cars but I have a love for motorsports.

One day we will partner up with someone and the site will explode and make money but the reason the site was started was not because I wanted to make money and this is where others come and go over the years as many of you have seen.

Sorry for the long story.
