Mike32 great point on advertising you do need that to get the word out (TV,Radio,Newspaper Etc.) Does Flamboro advertise I donot no but for Merrittville to advertise on Hamiltons Channel 11 great move. How many racefans from Hamilton went down there last night I donot know but I would say there were some.As for you comment reguarding the concessions you are right that is where the tracks make their money (concessions &souvinors)This is one part the track like to see line ups.It generally means profit if it(the service )is done right.
say what you will about the show but Peterborough had free admission to the grandstands last night and it was packed! It was a good move.
BlueDevil good move by Peterborough to give free admission for the first night.Yes it did get the fans (new & old ) to the track which is what you hoped it would do and by the sounds of it did.Now the next step is to keep the fans coming which will show if this promo actually worked or not.For the track I hoped it worked if not well they (Peterborough) tried. No harm in trying you can
not say the track is not trying to increase fans.
to tell you the truth even if there was no admission price I'm sure peterborough made up for it in food and merchandise sales.
^^^I am sure that they did! There was a constant line up all evening long. It was a very smart move on JP's part. While I am sure that not everyone will become week in week out regulars, what they need to do, is get the "occasionals" to choose Pboro as their track of choice in the area.
