Hey I sure know about all the b.s. that goes on at the other tracks believe me.... but I truly don't think that after the shaft last year from this peticular track ,flagman ,whatever, during the Oktoberfest weekend (last year) warrants the long drive for us to go and "freeze our butts" ,that's all.I have been checking the weather all morning and it looks like a hit or miss with the rain done there at Flammy so Good Luck to all!

with drizzle most of Sunday morning and a temp of 6 degrees, I couldn't believe it took them unitl 1:20 pm to call it today (especially with the forecast). Car counts are mediocre at best and sometimes I think it's due to the major classes qualifying one day and then running the feature the next. I feel sorry for teams who now will have to make a third expensive trip just to run their feature. Perhaps this is why only 8 llms showed for qualifying. It really shows contempt  for the racers and the fans.
I expect another 6 or so llms will show on Oct 15. I don't know if more than the original 20 late models will show (I guess it depends on how things go in Skeeterboro) but $3000 to win the 100 laps (2 x 50) is no hell. Maybe explains why D. Baker, Powell and B. Watson were at IRP yesterday. This race has got to get back to at least $5000 to win to give it any status and get a major sponsor. Thunder car counts, while respectable, seemed down with little participation from the tracks running a super stock type car.
Bringing in the mods-all eight of them-why bother.
IMO if they insist on a two day program, make them complete shows each day. I wonder too if some novelty is needed like a dirt sportsman on asphalt program. There are a lot of them (and their fans) in the Niagara area without anything to do this time of year. Also maybe let the llms run with the late models.
And get rid of the classes with 8 cars or those who are timed with a sun dial.

i liked the modifieds, it was a good first time showing, no caution feature, they got some interest in them, ....with varney for sale they need a new home track?...i agree and have said for years now that they should have 2 days but have each class run all their races on one day...

Who says Varney being for sale means the Modifieds need a new hometrack? That doesn't make any sense. Can't Varney be their hometrack if someone else owns it?
