ACT has approved a Ford Crate engine so we may eventually see changes in the LM division. I always thought there were more GM products as, 25 years ago when late models went to a pounds per cubic inch deal, Chrysler and Ford didn't have a small block quite as competitive as their big block engine. Ford Loyalists like Trickle were forced to switch.
Also, GM was the last major manufacturer to go to unibody construction. I venture that there are still some 1957 style chev frames floating around under cars you see now. The Ford and Chrysler unibody cars were much harder to straighten out after a bad hit then a full frame, thus the GM cars were favoured.
Don't know how true it is, but some wag recently said that the Napcar Cup frame up until a couple years ago was based on a 1964 Ford Galaxie.
Fords still do ok in certain applications. Pete Bicknells 358 mod success on the Syracuse mile has come with small block Ford power.
This Ford Sucks, Dodge sucks bit is infantile. All have their good and bad points.

The Lipskie fans and the Schmidt fans at Sauble have seen plenty of Ford wins over the years.
I remember when Lipskie came down and kicked butt at Flammy his first time against all the Gms. The bodies all look alike now anyways unless its a street stock or a mini.

Mike with alot of points I agree.
The problem is the guys you are talking about are using a tube chassis and a Ford motor not the same thing.

I was told the front geometry in a cup was a 70's chevelle thing and the rear was 1964 chev truck with a ford diff
