Actually the answer came to me from Just_A_Fan. He wrote:
Trev, here is the last (only other?) time there was no racing at Delaware on the Victoria Day weekend.
It was 2004. The kicker was that the days were generally nice and sunny, but we had monsoon rains each night . . .

Which led me to ponder today...
Man....what went so wrong that the track is sitting quiet this weekend?
I remember when the Victoria Day weekend was a high point on the Delaware schedule. 100 lap Late Model races, fireworks, the Victoria Day Spectacular, Demoliton derbies, Gary Beck lighting the place up in his Top Fueler.
What the hell happened?
Renovations happened. We'd be a Month deep into the schedule by now.
Would think the garbage attendance the last five years would have had a role as well. I do wish they had put one together for it, but understand why they didn't, with the new reno's and past runs.
I didn't necessarily mean on Delawares end. Didn't they try the Great Canadian last year on this weekend? I get that.
What I can't get is why people wont come like they used to. Labour day is pretty well established here....why not Victoria day?
