new pavement if we ever hope to see ISMA or Auto Value Sprints back. Next season there might be some Friday night competiton with the new Ridgeview (former Ridge) Raceway being rebuilt and re-opening in Ridgetown, running Friday nights, so stronger promotion is a key.
Could Delaware join the MAARA series? Stranger things have happened. (PS Vanderwyst finished 2nd in Maara points with Pearn gaining a top ten.)
I agree more participation with Flamboro. In the early days of Cascar (in the two barrel super late model days), the two tracks had a joint point fund and ran many of the same cars. They even shared a souvenir program! I acknowledge many of the London drivers don't like Flammy's narrow tight confines, but somehow it manages to get impressive LM car counts on most weekends, even with so many of the wins from the pole!

MAARA sounds good, except one thing: If I read the MAARA schedule properly, each track only gets one race. How many fans are gonna head stateside to see the other races? Its just a visiting tour that'd come in once a year and never be heard from again till next year.

For Delaware, I'm hoping for something a little more regular than a one-shot deal. As I said, I'd like to cultivate more locally based series. Its not like we don't have the fan/driver base to do it.

It'd drum up support for the APC 300 at the very least. More than one race per track would make it more expensive again, and would just result in guys spending more. Honestly, I think joining the MAARA would be more likely than a Delaware-Flamboro LM series...

I agree that its probably more likely. But I'm talking about what would be good for the speedway as opposed to what's more likely. (Not to say they couldn't do both.) Besides, I'm just fantasizing here. 😛

I'm basically just throwing out the idea that you can have just as good a race with area drivers as you can with a touring series. All a touring series' may bring is a little more prestige...and even that's iffy. As far as a touring series providing a better quality show...I don't buy it. Not if you're talking about the same kind of race cars.

Besides, as a fan, I know I'd rather watch Lindsay and Sheridan rubbing fenders with Steve Lyons and the Elliotts...and then go to Flammy the next week and watch em' do it again. That to me sounds a lot more appealing than watching a one shot deal with a field half full of Joe Blow from Weasel-fanny Wisconsin...and driving the same kind of race cars we have here.

Anyway, great ideas.

BTW, I saw or heard someone saying ISMA wouldn't be back till we repave. Is there anything substantiating this?
