D.J Dejesus is portugese just to clear that up. And Jared is the son of James Shields (Tommy's Motors) in Lambeth. They are both one of the nicest families you could meet but sometimes things happen on the track that come to this situation. Either way the fans loved it.

lol...yes I'd forgotten that. DJ was some upset that day, but thought that whatever he had to say needed saying.

As Silverstone said, Sheilds was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But DJ was mad more because, before this, Sheilds had been in the wrong place at the wrong time WAY too many times for his liking. Remember that up to this point in the season, that 7 car was all over the place and causing a fair bit of havoc. And DJ's car got messed up pretty bad that day too.

But...as with any rookie, Sheilds got better over the course of the season and even came close to bagging a feature once or twice. Keep an eye out next year. I think him and Juice Box are gonna be upsetting the established order a bit.

Here's another one. The "Shoulda Washed Underneath the Car Too" award goes to Robin McCluskey. On Partsource 142 night, coming out of turn 4, Robin got mixed up with 5-Kyle Delisle and 2-Doug Stewart. He ended up sitting sideways on top of the wall (and on top of Delisle) with the undercarriage pointing at the fans, where he stayed for about 45 minutes while the track crew sorted out how to get him down from there.

A lot of the top stories have already been noted.
Here are some more interesting points from season past.

Trucks: first time winner #75. Exciting racing all season. That continued till the last lap of the season.

Super Stocks: #3 bringing out the "old" girl and once settled running darn competitive. #2 had a number of different winners including the once retired McGaw. Week in week out best show of the program.

Modifieds: 3 first time winners. Yes THREE. What a competitive class with such young talent.

Late Models: There was a first time winner as well. Most noted the #38. Many new faces visiting the speedway in '09. The year was an interesting one to say the least. This class continues to be a crowd favourite.
I will add more points of interest as they come to mind.
Where the "delly" awards fall I will leave that to Shadowracer.
