Shadow Report - Morneau SS Champ - Tie for 1st in Trucks

Yep you heard it right. As of the end of racing tonight, (before tech) and according to the announcers, Todd Powell and Paul Fothergill are tied for 1st place.Challenger Motor Freight Trucks1st feature was the rained out feature from last week. Top 3 finishers were 25-Powell, 33-Sid McDonald, and 8-Porter. Didn't see the race, as it was the first race run of the evening, but I can tell you the 9 truck was black flagged after an incident with (I believe) 85-Cole Powell and sent to the back. This was only a harbringer of what was yet to come.2nd Truck Feature Saw 00-Johns take an early lead, followed closely by 0-Roy, 01-Bloemendal, 41-Lovie, 85-C. Powell, and 9-Fothergill. Johns didn't have it very long, as Roy made the pass, bringing the rest of the line with him. Wasn't long before the 76-Schwartz and Cole Powell both go careening into the inner frontstetch wall. Once again Fothergill is black flagged and sent to the back. ("It was like deja vu all over again", as our beloved announce team is so fond of saying.) And it seemed Schwartz was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Todd Powell pulls alongside Fothergill and the two have words for a couple laps. I did hear it mentioned that perhaps Cole was messing with Fothergill to benefit Todd...sort of a "team orders" thing, and that perhaps Fothergill was taking exception to that. I didn't see either incident so maybe someone else can fill in that blank.So after the restart, Fothergill goes on a mission to get back to the front, and does a pretty fine job of it, getting back to 7th by he 19th lap. Then he gets to the 88 truck of Joe Windis. Windis' truck seemed to develop a strange aerodynamic anomaly that somehow caused his truck to turn right whenever Fothergill got beside him. So now Roy, Lovie and T. Powell are having a battle for the lead. Lovie tries to get by Roy a couple times and Roy chops him down a couple times. Then out of nowhere comes the 8 truck of Porter, who manages to get by them all to take the lead.And the race ends with Porter winning, followed by Roy, Powell, Lovie, and Bloemendal.And I'm sure the pits afterward were pretty interesting.Peterbilt of Ontario Super StocksFeature 1 (The rainout)51-Rabideau takes an early lead, followed by 1-Dadson, 3-Perkins, and 93-Meyer. Dadson makes the pass and begins to run while 51-3-93 wage a battle. But soon Dadson drops off the pace and is gone with mechanical difficulty, making the 3 way battle for 1st instead of 2nd.Perkins manages to get alongside Rabideau, and...I know you'll find this hard to believe...Rabideau manages to take out the 3 car again. (what's with this guy?) Black flag to Rabideau. (too little too late, but what are ya gonna do?) This gives Meyer the lead. After the restart, Meyer is in front, followed by 88-Verberne. Verberne pushes Meyer hard, and Meyer cuts down on him several times. (remember this...you'll need it later) 2-Rijnen makes it an occasion to go around both of them to take first, and Meyer and Verberne continue their battle for 2nd, followed by 77-Lake. Verberne finally gets around Meyer and brings Lake with him.Final order is Rijnen, Verberne, Lake, Meyer and 99-Nagy. (And Rijnen's car goes up in a puff of smoke coming out of the final turn.)Feature 2Once again, Dadson finds himself out in front for a lap or 2, then gets passed by Perkins and Lake. The 3 and the 77 begin to distance themselves quickly. 3rd and 4th are are Dadson and 87-Ouelette. But the lead doesn't last as Meyer ends up in the backstretch wall, and the black flag is waving at Verberne for helping put him there.On the restart, Nagy takes a huge jump and pulls right up alongside Perkins. But he cant get down to the inside and a couple laps later he's been relegated back to third. Perkins, Lake and Nagy begin to break away, until the caution flies again because Rabideau's in the fence. Black flag to Verberne again. There was a funny moment in the stands when the announcers thought the black was being given to Stephen Richmond. I believe the immortal words "Not MY Stephen" were quite clearly heard ringing out from somewhere around Richmond Row. (I dunno. Some crazy lady. Didn't get her name :D)Anyway, at the restart, once again the 3 and 77 continue their battle. 98-Morneau has made his way up to 4th. then Lake loses some traction and falls out of line, Morneau up to 2nd. White flag lap and the 2 and 98 are side by side, 3 inside, 98 outside. It comes down the the last turn and in the end its Morneau edging out Perkins, with Lake in 3rd. Great race! And Morneau grabs the 2007 Championship! (and I believe a couple of vendettas might've been taken care of too)Enduro All Star raceAll I can tell you is that Goertz won the race on the last turn of the last lap. Almost 40 cars started that one.Great night of racing!See y'all at Cayuga tomorrow nite!

What the h*** does the past have to do with Delaware???? It's rules haven't been finalized for this year yet.

Yes and I'm sure they will change as the weekend progresses.

Hey...you were the guys giving me all the fun stuff to report on!

Hell of a show last night BTW. Andrew had us on our feet a couple times. It's only too bad the Lake crew was not in their customary spot right in front of us. THAT would have been interesting.

Too bad the season's got to end. 🙁

Hey Shadow,thanks for the race reports all year!I was able to get the week end off work,so I was at the track ALL weekend.The racing was GREAT,especially,Friday.Ray used that dreaded high side to perfection in the last feature and had a great side by side battle with the #3 car to win his 4th feature of the year AND his 3rd DELAWARE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!
Anyways,I just wanted to come on here and say thanks!! Your reports were always a welcomed site,when I couldn't get down to the races!!
So THANKS AGAIN!!!! and SEE YOU NEXT SEASON!!!!

In the past ties for 1st were broken by # of feature wins. So it would be Fathergill over Powell 6 to 2.

Rumour has it the 25 truck failed tech and was dq'd after Fridays event.
