Paul H could hardly contain his excitement as he was handing out the trophies. When you saw him walking around the track you could see a combination of terror and elation on his face. Great job done by all at Delaware. The only suggestion I might make (they asked for input) for a future event such as this is to start the show a little earlier if possible. Getting home at 1:30 am on a Wednesday night is a problem for some if you can't take the next day off. The track couldn't control the problem with the highway being closed due to an accident but I don't think it would have made a big difference leaving anyways as there was thousands of cars trying to exit at the same time. It was no big deal for me as I am on vacation and most expect this to happen but there it is. Also this is the third time I think that Delaware had to cancell the fireworks due to the show running late. Not a big deal as the race is the show but John H must be getting tired of announcing and cancelling the fireworks LOL.

Darts and Laurels

One dart and one laurel for the weather. MY GOSH IT WAS HOT! The night was perfect for racing though.

Laurel to Delaware. All the staff did and excellent job. The kids in the kitchen must have been cooked!

Laurel to the fans. Even though there were more people there then I can ever remember everyone seemed to move around the track without too much problem and everyone was polite for the most part. And congrats to whoever won the 50/50 draw. I think it was $1900 😮 😮 The other half went to Jessy's Journey I believe.

Laurel to all the drivers and teams. Great show. Even my son who is not a huge stock car fan enjoyed himself.

Laurel to Kyle Busch. I can't believe I just typed that. As someone else mentioned he worked on that car. You would think Steve Robblee's car wouldn't need much work to win a race at Delaware but he wrenched on that car everytime he came into the pits during practice to get it to his liking. He wasn't here to just do laps and get a payday. He came to win. Which brings a laurel for Kennington. If he wasn't there no one would of had anything for Busch. There was great racing throughout the field but it was the DJ and Kyle show at the end of the day.

Laurels to all the out of town cars or 'Invaders' that showed. They did a good job on an unfamiliar and tricky track. BTW what happened to the 9 of Watson. He was there running pretty good then he was gone.

I am sure I could come up with lots more but I think I am starting to Ramble so I'll sign off with a congratulations to Delaware the drivers / teams and the fans.

Great to hear the event was a success. From the messages on here a lot of people had a good time.

Here is my only thoughts for these events. They always seem to give these nascar drivers the best possible cars. Why not give them an average car and see if they can drive the wheels off the car and win?

I don't think all the regular drivers have the best cars on the track and the Nascar drivers are getting paid big dollars to be there.

I would rather see one of our local boys win one of these things. Does Kyle keep the winnings for this race? I would hope he donates it to a local charity.

Lets hope this brings more people to the track on the weekends.

Anyone have photos or video?

Evan, at Delaware there are about 6 cars that have the potential to win on a given Friday night IMO. The 21 of Leffler was a good ride but by no means the best possible car. The 00 was a little better but same deal, although it was as good as the 22 the 00 couldn't get back up through the field after getting sent to the back. The 28 51 is probably one of the best LMs in Ontario but was still no match for the 3 of Kennington a few weeks ago. Busch and the team worked on that car constantly to get it as good as it could get and it showed. Also the way that Busch was exiting turn 2 was what made the difference IMO. He was diamonding the corner like I haven't seen guys do there before. Sure he had a good ride but driving was still the difference. You could see Kennington mimic Busch's line for the last ten laps as the 51 started to lose the handle and he was gaining. Like in most races if only there were 5 more laps 😉
