I was half expecting someone to hand me a coffee when I came over to the 5 car.  😉

.  Going with black so I don't have to be constantly trying to remove tire marks which is the case with white or a light colour.

That's the decals I was eluding to. LOL

I know you had some reservations about the lineup for restarts, how did that go?

Yes, I was a little concerned for a couple of reasons. First, it was only my second time at Delaware and I was a slower car which had a much higher likelyhood of becoming a lapped car.   I was a little worried about a very long day driving around on the inside while 30 some odd lead lap cars went barrelling past on the outside or possibly getting dumped if a lead lap car decided that it was easier to move me out of the way rather than going around me, and then having the whole cycle repeat itself. At the time, I thought that it probably would have been better to have lapped cars at the back so that they wouldn't figure into the equation until they got lapped again.

This never became an issue for me because when I went a lap down in the heat race I was the lucky dog and got to go back around before I overheated and in the feature I didn't get lapped before I dropped out with tranny/rearend noise/vibration @ lap 57.  I think lapped cars possibly became an issue towards the end of the Feature as there was a very long green flag run which resulted in some very good cars going a lap down and the lead lap cars might have had a little more problem getting around them.

The second concern I had was around the single file restarts. I was concerned that given the number of cars that if you were at the back you would be lapped almost immediately.  However upon reflection I think it worked well and probably reduced the number of bent racecars on restarts which is a good thing. The fans may have found it a little less interesting than 3 single file and then double up but then again the fans don't have to pay the bill when a car gets torn up so it probably evens out.

On the whole looking back I think it worked out well and would do it the same way next year.  I just need to make sure that I am quick enough to stay on the lead lap. Right now I am thinking about trying to run Delaware specials and about 50% of the regular Delaware shows as I really enjoyed running there.

Sorry about no coffee. We will have to see what we can do for next year. lol Or how about this.... If I know you are coming to Oktoberfest I will make sure there is Melitta coffee + 18% cream (this is Timmy's secret) and sugar in our pit. This goes for other CRO members who are in the pits. Typical lawyer caveat: I can only promise coffee on Saturday. Coffee will also be available on Sunday if I make the show!!!!!

What car was Delisle driving the red 7 or the white 7?

What/whoose car was Vanderwyst driving?

Was DJ in a McColl rental/house car?

Delisle ran the red car and Vanderwyst the white. Kennington said Ron O'Brien ( REMAX ) helped him with the car so assume it had some tie ins with McColl.

Reply to Shadowracer Reply #23 ( Delaware GRR Site ) a few comments
First I will say Delaware's regular nights went off pretty well most nights done by 10:30 P.M.But Sundays show APC300 which took 5 hours to complete there should be no excuse for this.In a way I am glad there was 42 or 43 cars there and not 50 or even 60 or you would have been there for not 5 hrs but maybe 6 Hrs plus.If I was this Track I would be looking at possible changes.
1) Do time trials Sunday at 12 noon or Saturday night. If time trials done Saturday night you could have an autograph session at 11:30 A.M. Sunday morning and make the race 1:00 P.M.
Note Time Trials where you qualify is where you start the feature. If heat races odd qualifiers first heat even qualifers second heat.
2) Donot mix races( Delaware Championship & LM big race does not mix) Make Delaware Champioship race one week eariler.
3 ) You made a statement about this race APC300 being like or in time better than the Oswego Classic . Hate to say not even close ( Oswego Supermodifieds ) gets this hands down.Go there and watch 38-40  Supermodifieds go 200 Laps on a 5/8 track. Now that is a race.
