I was saddened to hear tonight that the racing community has lost one at a young age. Paul McIlroy
passed recently at 40 yrs of age in a car accident. Paul raced Thunders at Flamboro and was always a top runner there, as well as being a frequent poster at the old GRR boards when they were up.
Delaware long timers will remember Paul's father Ken McIlroy who raced here in the 70s.
Thoughts and prayers for the McIlroy family tonight.
Paul and I shared many an arguement but I respected the hell out of him...he will be sorely missed by all who knew him
rip my friend....always will remember our battles at the beach.......Joe
Oh this so sad to hear,my heart goes out to his family,I have many fond memories of Paul from years ago when he used to come to Sauble with his dad Ken.My thoughts and prayers are with his family with this tragic loss.
I think the correct spelling is McIlroy. Paul's dad Ken was a great limited late model and rat racer driver and drove, I believe, for Roger McGlynn at one time. Paul definitely was one of most exciting Thunder car drivers at Flamboro
