I guess that is one way to avoid repaving 😀
Well here we go again another year of uncertainty is it new owners or do owners who own land do something else as yes they do own the land and sure hope track does stay but with economy on down slide & yes everybody has to agree that crowds this year were not that good & only times were specials (ie: Busch appreaence, super modifieds,Nascar modifieds,NCTS) crowds were good as for averages from other years well not sure but if was betting man would say aveage was down as regular shows brought those averages down. With car counts down in all groups yes people would find something else to do on Friday nights as when only 10 -12 Late models would show up & only approx 10 modifieds & these 2 divisions being your main two & SS & Trucks as well & on Saturdays enduros but that groups counts were down & yes my opinion some of those fast cars show have been told to move up as these cars (ie 64,39,38,to name a few ) & that is another story but the main one here is
1) is there new owners of track
2) what type of schelude
These are the 2 main ones as these are the most important to drivers & owners of cars who race at Delaware as Jay put it drivers need to know as they have to start looking for sponsors of their car or cars.Remember no sponsors means no cars means no racing !!.
Do owners go to Specials only as mentioned before sure hope not as was said before Cayuga went that way & now see what they are today a rotting track out in the middle of no where rotting away to nothing. Also strange as in other years there were xmas specials & season ticket sales & do not think they have been announced as if everything was a go full steam ahead these would be out I presume & check 2012 scheludes of traveling series (Ie Isma,Nascar modifieds & Ncts ) if you see Delawares name great means they are coming if not well tells you something & probably not good .I hope this track keeps going for many ,many years to come but if true new owners great new blood is great so lets hope announcement comes out soon as yes these drivers ,owners & yes even fans can plan for the year 2012 of racing.
I really hope that they don't go to specials only. The way I see it is if they would just keep the rules the same for a few years, maybe the cars would come back. Rule changes cost money, it already costs enough to race for a year without having to buy new parts just for the rule change. Tony always had decent car counts because the rules never changed. Maybe for the good or not at least everyone knew the rules and what it was going to cost you. Delaware, we need to know whats going on. If we can't tell marketing partners what is going on why would they invest in our race teams and Delaware speedway, after all its like a partnership. With out us Delaware has no show and without them we don't have a place to put on a show. We need to work together and drop the secrets its getting a little old. I am trying to put together a full 2012 season and its impossible if the other partner won't tell me what the plan is. "Delaware!!"
WTF? Rumor of a possible ownership change and suddenly the sky is falling? Gimme a break.
Not saying nothing's up, but how about a reality check here? If someone knows something for sure, then pipe up. If its all just rumor, then take it with a grain of salt.
Seriously guys.
You know what the funny thing is Shadow! people that actually have a financially interest ( ie car owner and team owner) do care, and can't take so much talk with no response from Delaware with grain of salt. Jay is right with, we are looking for sponsorship, and when sponsors are asking why would we commit, when no one know whats going on, Kinda makes things hard. Just sayin!
