the whole point is the speedway makes calls way to early in the day. The radars showed nothing coming at all after 4pm. Whats done is done.

which might of been ok for the chaos cars, but when the race cars are out there water seeps up all night long when we've had that much rain, and not to mention the stands would have been empty with how crappy it looked out  😉

It was a good call, even though we were excited to try out a few new things. So, we went and got a little drunky-poo, had a DD and stayed out until 3 A.M. One of the best nights for a cancellation yet... in our camp anyways 🙂

the whole point is delaware treats saturday divisions completly different from the friday divisions. If an enduro/chaos event gets rained out who gives a crap is what their saying, they never reschedulet them and they only have a limited number of events to begin with but when a friday division gets rained out u can be sure theyll get rescheduled.

Cameron:

I don’t believe that’s what we’re saying at all.

First, to be crystal clear: Enduro / Chaos events can (and do) run in the rain and as a result the necessity of rescheduling of an event is rare, because typically they run rain or shine.  However, if we do lose one on a Saturday, they are nearly impossible to reschedule since because many competitors do a great deal of preplanning with work and vacation schedules to participate in these events - - we respect this planning by only running on event days which were announced in the printed schedule.

To be further clear: we did not reschedule the other races on that Friday evening.  Simply added the laps from the truck race onto their next already scheduled appearance.  The trucks lost a race from the schedule as a result of that rainout.

Cameron, I think you will find no bigger supporter of the Chaos Car program than me.  I do not believe it is in the best interest of the class (which is currently the speedway’s fastest growing) to force reschedule this event immediately, especially without consulting the competitors.  It is something we are keeping in our pocket for later if we can find a way to make it work.

If there are stories with the Chaos Cars this month it should be:
• The success and challenges of the new full-speedway format
• How the series has a record number of cars available for competition (14) and is regularly drawing 10 vehicles to the events.
• How payouts are up in the class (with the help of the speedway and C&L Electric).  http://www.delawarespeedway.com/build-one-today-new-chaos-car-prizing
• The unheard of affordability of the series with competitors putting together & competitive vehicles together for around $1,500 that last.
• How a driver put a car together replacing his old one, blew a tire and strut so the front end was dragging all around the race track and STILL finished second.

While the rainout was regrettable, and I can understand your disappointment (rainouts are the least favorite part of my work with the track) -- the story here shouldn’t be the loss of the celebrity race, it should be the successes the series is currently experiencing with the support of its drivers (including yourself), sponsors, fans and the speedway.

On a lighter note, I would like to point out that the Chaos Cars seem to have enough cars in the class to be entertaining now, which I'm happy to see.  Good fun for the fans--it didn't look so last season and I figured it might be cancelled, but it seems great now.
