They attempt to have it fall under the domestic waste definition (within the land clearing bylaw)
http://www.london.ca/By-laws/PDFs/clearland.PDF
The proplem is, that definition states that the car is concidered delelict if it appears to be waste. You need only advise the city staffer that it is an operating race car, not a derelic vehicle. It operates as and when required, therefore quailify's as such.
They don't require citizens to remove boats, atv.s or trailers. So the race car can stay. The by-law officer just needs the amo to throw at your neighbor that is complaining.
Have some information available that shows it is used as a race car, (I'm assuming Enduro?). Have a payout envelope with date and car number, roster form the track or registration from the track.
Iam from the Town Of Caledon and their by-law states all vehicles on your property must be licensed,if you have the un licensed race car on a licensed trailer your okay.Complete b/s......
London put a couple poison pills in two different bylaws to stop trunk slammers and off the books mechanics / body shops. All bylaws in London are complaint based enforcement. One of your neighbours ratted on you. These bylaws are not intended to stop you from having a racecar on a trailer or a classic car restoration project but with everything politicians do there are unintended consequences. Whatever happens don't let them push you around and have paper work to back you up. Unfortunately in the Republik of Kanada there is no such thing as private property rights.
