I know that Rogers/Cablecast used to set up cameras at the McKerlie Millen 200 in the 80s. All they pretty much did at the time was set up a couple fixed cameras and hope it would pick up the track announcer's commentary.
Maybe they've still got some of that stuff archived somewhere.
Also, the guy who runs that "Old Time Rock and Roll" trailer when we have a cruise night...he's got some memorabilia he used to display up top from time to time. I belive he had some really grainy film footage from the 1/4 mile dirt days. (back when the light poles were right at the inner edge of the racetrack. :o) This is the same guy that ended up with that old scale model of Cayuga that used to do the car show curcuit.
Anyone know how to get a hold of him?

Well, lo and behold, when I said you could send me pics and I'd post them, someone took me up on it!
I'm posting these on behalf of Gary Brooks. Gary, thanks for letting us have a look!
This white car was owned by my dad and driven by Bob Mc cormick but don't know the year.

Here's the same car screaming into turn 3 at Nilestown. (taken from the pits) The car right behind that you see the white bumper of is Ray Eaton, Shadow's Uncle. Small world eh?
The blue 29 was the same car a couple years later with my brother Vic driving, the 30 car was also my dads and Fast Freddy Cameron drove it . the 39 vega in the back ground is Davey Isen.

It's nice to see all the old pictures. They bring back a lot of childhood memories, but it's pretty neat to read some of the names I haven't heard in a lot of years. When my Dad raced (Mike March Sr.) he drove cars that were built by a guy named Jimmy Mallison. Jimmy built a lot of cars over the years that were driven by Fred Hardy, Steve Powers, Rob Fletcher (who is still racing), don't remember his real name but a guy named Porky. Keep it up guys there's got to be a lot more stuff out there somewhere.
