I stand to be corrected and appoligize to you for this msunderstanding.
The bottom line is there going to be a racing show to attend in April, or are we back on the road again to both Flat Rock and Toledo?
Thank you Dster. You've shown us that you're very smart. I could walk up to a guy on the street and tell em he's got an ugly tie too, then stand there and justify my words by saying "well, its true." But some of us have a modicum of class and wouldn't do it. And...some of us don't...and would.
So anyway, it was a hell of a morning for me. In the post I wrote last night about media coverage, I touched on how Cressman wasn't covering anymore, and also about Pete James ignoring racing. I was proven wrong on both counts.
On 1290's early morning show, Pete James actually talked at length about Delaware and Nilestown, had some recollections about his time annoucing at Nilestown (which I didn't know) And he basically said, "you know, losing a GM in the sports world doesn't mean its over." he even went so far to say he felt the article was overstated. So take that for what its worth. Bulmer could have went to the paper to make some kind of point.
In the end, I think seeing Cressman's article this morning is going to force someone's hand. That sound you heard while reading it was the sound of 100 wrenches getting put back in their toolboxes. They can't let it hang like that for long and still expect to have a show in the spring.
I predict a swift response, whatever that response might be.
Cuz you know how accurate my predictions are. 🙄
No shadow, thanks to you for not only this post, but all of last season for being the at track reporter. Too bad youyr renumeration is not matched by your skill.
I like your prediction... maybe a sale is in the wind....maybe just maybe it will include a former gm ??/
thanks for the info shadowracer all we can do now is wait and see what transpires over the next couple of weeks
Well, you're welcome.
As far as a prediction, I don't imagine a sale. I'm just referring to whether the season is still a go or not. Thanks to this morning's article, the owners have to answer now. I think the season will fly. I also quote from another thread:
Based on the information I have received I am able to let you all know that the speedway WILL open for the 2007 season just as it has for the last 55 years.
I know jr52 knows his stuff. I believe him.
I don't think they'll get Novotny back. Sure he sold CASCAR, but he's still heavily involved in it I think. Am I wrong? (besides, only the racers can say whether that'd be a good thing or not anyway.)
