lol. Thanks for the kind words gents.
Maybe I can get a grant.
😀
heh...I was just going through some stuff in my closets, and found my wardrobe for this weekend: An off-the-rack mint General Tire Super Series racing jacket.
Still fits too!
🙂
excellent article Shadowracer. The only thing that saddens me is that instead one strong division of 40 cars fighting for a spot in the main event at Delaware, it has now been split into two divisions of 20 between Cdn Tire series & OSS).
Delaware continues to be the most expensive track in the province to attend. Hoping the money goes to further improvements. I guess the acid test will be the car count this weekend to see if the fans got value for the price of admission.

Thanks for the kind words, and you're right about the NCTS/OSS split....but that happened way before NASCAR took over.
And on this

I have to respectfully disagree. The acid test is how good the racing is, not car count. Car count may be a small factor, but it is hardly the be-all-and-end-all. Watch the race from St Eustache...those guys left absolutely nothing on the table by the end of the race. 20-22 cars can still put on a hell of a show.
Anybody have any driver rosters from Checker Speedway from the early 60's? or Pictures perhaps, My dad raced there an I was just wondering what his number was 🙂
