Kenny Forth was the car that flipped - he was ok.  His
car leaked a lot of gas before he got out (got the shots).
Cole Weber won the race.

Results and Notes

Grisdale Late Model open time trials:  Winner  #89 Shawn Chenoweth time: 15.66 seconds

Official Top 12:  #89 Shawn Chenoweth;  #82 Jason Shaw;  #56 Jeff Stewart;  #49 Mark Burbridge;  #8 Paul Howse;  #03 Shane Maginnis;  #36 Gary Elliott;  #05 Brad Corcoran;  #24 Brendan Didero;  #50 Dave Baker;  #93 Bill Hollis;  #3 Chris Bochsler.

Dice inversion: 8

Sunday Front Row:  Inside #05 Brad Corcoran; Outside #36 Gary Elliott.

Chenoweth, making the dice roll, says thankful for a great season, coming off a win at the Autumn Colours Classic one week earlier, a marathon battle of attrition.  The #89 Jeff Hanley chassis is hooked up to run.  No points racing this week.  “We’ve got all winter to fix it.”

LM Consi:  Winner  #75 TJ Marshall

Qualifying for the next six spots in the main event, Marshall will now start in the lucky thirteenth position on Sunday after outrunning Bill Lasaline to the checker flag.  A Last Chance Race to fill the field up to 24 will run off the top of the race schedule on Sunday.

Limited Late Models

Heat 1: Winner  #28 Roy Wilkie

Heat 2: Winner  #69 Al Inglis

Fan favourite Tom Walters was held to second behind Wilkie, after tying up with #31 Jeff Walt early on.  Three visiting champions were in the qualifying field:  Walters (Sunset), Inglis (Barrie), #81 Chris Van Dusen (Varney).

Heat 3: Winner  #8 Jason Parker

Heat 4: Winner  #37 Rick Walt

Tom Walters was held to another second place finish, unable to catch Parker in time to make a challenge for the lead.  Roy Wilkie worked to a third place finish in the closing laps of the race, tying Walters for top qualifier.  Roy Wilkie wins the right to be top qualifier as a race winner; Walters failed to reach victory lane in qualifying.

F4 Modifieds heat:  Winner  #63 Mark Lucas

F4 Feature:       Winner  #8 Craig Shaver

Shaver passed Rick Mercer on the outside off the front row and never looked back.  Mercer eventually took a black flag mechanical penalty and was sent off the speedway for heavy smoke.  John Verney gave chase from second, Mark Lucas tried to close the gap from third, but neither could tighten the race and challenge for the top spot.

Mini Stock

Heat 1: Winner  #9 Neil Hannah

Heat 2: Winner  #88 Mark Dennis

Heat 3: Winner  #43 Sarah Miskiewicz

More than forty Mini Stocks were trying to qualify for the top 30 spots in Sunday's main event.  Top eight finishers from each heat, plus the top six from the last chance.  Mikskiewicz has a great opportunity after a strong qualifying effort.  Mechanical failure took out Flyin’ Brian Watson from a top three finish, top ten start.  Past division champions Dave Bailey and Matthew Dean fought hard to make the feature field.

MS Last Chance:  Winner  #38 Bill Pearsall

Only the top six of 15 starters moved on to the Sunday main event.  Pearsall came from tenth to win the event, passing Mark DaSilva for the lead.  Visiting driver Jack Horner was also strong and finished second.  DaSilva followed in third, then Cory Horner, and Dale Cooke.  Brittani Myers was the next car in line at seventh, the first bubble car (non-qualified) for the Sunday feature.  Other notable non qualifiers include Sheldon Bossom, wrecked in the race, and Flyin’ Brian Watson who was not able to start the last chance race.

Thunder Car

Heat 1: Winner  #73 Nick Troback

Heat 2: Winner  #36 Ken Grubb

Heat 3: Winner  #21 Matt Bentley

Nick Troback ran the diamond line around the race track to block Brad Collison from a top spot challenge.  Ken Grubb ran high and low across the nose of the JR Fitzpatrick entry, blocking for the lead without recourse.  High car count and only twenty-four starting spots put a lot of pressure on the Thunder Car drivers.  Matt Bentley was unchallenged in his qualifying effort, driving away from a five-car freight train.

Heat 4: Winner  #76 Shawn Arnott

Heat 5: Winner  #81 Matt Mulholland

Heat 6: Winner  #32 Marvin Frieberger

The second round calmed down, with exceptional flares of excitement.  Now four-time track champion Randy 'the Rocket' Rusnell chased Arnott furiously for 10 laps, but was unsuccessful in his bid for the lead.  JR Fitzpatrick was held to another second place finish, unable to catch Mulholland after getting held up in traffic in the early laps.  Marvin Frieberger found a fast line around Flamboro and outran fellow visitor Dan Wright to claim the checker flag.  The top 18 starting positions have been determined by high-points earners after two rounds of qualifying.  The remaining six positions will be filled after the Last Chance Race on Sunday.

O.S.S. time trials:  Winner  #81 Shawn McGlynn           time 16.40 seconds – track record for O.S.S.

O.S.S. feature:  Winner  #11 Cole Weber

Jay Doerr lead the race in a dominant fashion for the first half, chased by a freight train of competition - Dave Connelly, Josh Wood, Cole Weber, and Matt Robblee.  A series of cautions for spins, a couple to the credit of Jason Lancaster, slowed the pace of the first 50 laps of action and the number of green flag laps nearly equalled the number of laps under caution.  Lap 51 sparked excitement, a side by side leader battle between Connelly and Doer.  Connelly on the high side slapped the outside wall out of turn two, showering sparks but not slowing him down.  But in three laps of racing Doer left Connelly behind in a two car length lead.  No change in the line-up by lap 68, but then Chad McGlynn spun to bring out a caution and tighten the field.  When the green flag dropped again it was a Saturday night shoot out to the finish.  Matt Robblee used the inside lane to get inside of Josh Wood, following Cole Weber who charged low against Dave Connelly.  Leader Jay Doer left the battles behind and ran away.  Connelly would hold off Weber, but Robblee’s run would prove successful advancing to fourth in front Wood.  Lap 84 the caution would fly again, as déjà vu Chad McGlynn was turned in the wrong direction.  It broke the rhythm of Matt Robblee, who to that point was stalking the third place car of Cole Weber, and looked like the fastest ride in the field, next to leader Jay Doerr.  On the restart Doerr and Connelly again made up the front row, with Weber and Robblee locked in behind.  Robblee was freight trained by the inside line on the restart, struggling as Doerr, Connelly, Weber and Wood drove away from him.  A change of fate happened at lap 93 when the caution would fly again, this time involving the two lead cars – Doerr and Connelly – who tangled up fighting over prime real estate.  It was evident that Dave Connelly, in a heated points battle in the championship chase, was over driving in his determined effort to score well.  Sent to the back with only seven laps remaining, the new leader was Cole Weber.  Josh Wood started to the outside, Matt Robblee to the inside of row two, alongside Shawn Hewitt.  Robblee followed Weber down low to the front of the field, Wood and Hewitt fighting back on the outside.  Kelly Balson joined the run down low and pushed pass Hewitt.   With five laps to go Robblee ran low and nearly ran to the lead, but Cole Weber fought back and drifted down in front to take the lane away from the charging driver.  At lap 97 another aggressive attempt went sour, resulting in Robblee landing in the corner three-four concrete, and another caution lit the track, setting up a green-white-checker finish.  Cole Weber led Josh Wood, Kelly Balson and Shawn Hewitt to the white flag, a promising last lap battle, but it was never finished.  The race was ended under caution when behind the leaders Kenny Forth was flipped upside down on the front straightaway, an altercation with the ill-tempered Dave Connelly.  Forth emerged from the car unharmed but the closing image of the night was of the remaining race field stopped in turn four as the Cougar Delivery Service clean up crew and Ray's Towing went to work to work on the upside down race car, cautiously aware of the fuel pouring out onto the asphalt.  Cole Weber was awarded the race victory, under caution.
