I have a hard time believing that Paul would endorse this type of posting. I hope that it is not coming directly from him, if it is I would lose all respect that I have for him, both as a man and as a racer. This is coming from a guy who has been a member of teams that have been beaten by Paul far more times than we have beaten him. After every race, he has been humble and a gentleman, this would not be in his character!
As for Showler, I would tend to believe his fate was a result of a poor racing decision, as I have seen him make those type of decisions many, many times over many years. This unfortunately for Showler will not change, It will be his story until he hangs up the helmet.
Sid, take the high road man, you have no need to defend yourself or your team. Anybody who has raced with you guys knows that you run a first class operation. Any criticism directed at you or your team is the result of an inferiority complex.
and I suppose you have never made a mistake or missed something when the pressure is on the get something done in a hurry....
as mater of fact in the 3 years i have been crewing for multiple people i have not missed something when the pressures on. and lets face it everone makes mistakes no one is perfect.

I guess last season it was wrong for us too with a 25 point penalty so that mean we would of won too but.. you don't here me fussing about it: life goes on and you make sure things are right for the next season...Hind sight is always 20/20
If you don't want tech guys to rule against ya, then don't give them anything they need to make a decision on. or what happens happens......"
this is nothing against anyone, but the whole problem is there is different rules for different people. we were penalized for our exhaust the main issue being that part we had was 3", 2 1/2" entering the component like the rules state. jeff said if it wasn't 3" no prob, two weeks later the 16 truck was found to have 3" exhust going from the header to the muffler approx 18" in lenght, no penalty was assesed in this case they were just told to correct the problem. last sat front suspension was measured and the 88 truck was found to be in violation of the rules and a warning was issued to correct. why there is such inconsistency in the penalties for rules infraction's in all divisions i don't know but had we been given the same warning as others we would of been 1st in both driver and owner points by 17 and 15 pts. had other teams been given the same penalty as we were given the 88 team would not of won the driver points. i think everyone just wants a fair shot. whats good for one is good for the other. we all invest alot of time effort and money into racing to have a inconsistent enforcement of the rules and hopefully in the future the ones enforcing the rules will be more objective and leave all friendships and ties to competitors outside the gates where they belong and enforce rules equal, afterall their not forcing competitors to to break the rules and should have no prob enforcing rule vilations if found regardless of who it is.
we went through this last night the key problem is 1 person and we know who that is J.* who has alot of friends
