I'll just start off with this clip filmed on my cellphone.

This is how things looked at about 9am. Everyone lined up to be given the once over by the tech crew.
The Richmond racing crew. Derek, Neil, Donnie "Knaus" Perkins, Carsten and Stephen.
Over on the other end of things, Jesse Kennedy and his crew of Big Game Hunters. They're serious as you can see, unfortunately it just wasn't their day.
Kirk Hooker...good to go.
David Elliott.
Flagman Sharpie laying down the what's what to a bunch of 500lb gorillas. "Ok...I don't wanna see none of this, and none of that...see? Or else I'm gonna give ya one of these, or one of those..."
Shawn Thomson was the first to hit the track after the call came to fire em up. (This is from that little crow's nest up in turn 1...great spot!)
More pics thru the week.
Bottom line is that it was a good race today. Not a fender slammer, this was one for the real race fans rather than the crash n bash crowd.
But wow was it hot today. Jeez, when the intermission happened at lap 100, the crowd exited en masse to the parking lot just do they could be on the shady side of the wall where there were some trees.
Anyway, the day boiled down to a duel between Pritiko and Watson. Pritiko spent a lot of the day wayyy out in front with Watson in 2nd. It was funny because once the yellows started coming, the two of them kept swapping the lead every time there was a restart.
Great win by Watson though.
More later.

Downtown Watsy Brown, as an anonymous competitor dubbed him 😉 We'll settle for "Downtown" Mark Watson.
Summer Shootout winner, back to try for the double, Jonathan Urlin.
Matt Pritiko, back from a torn up race car last time out, and later a blown up engine on a practice night...here with a brand new motor. Almost won the 200 on it too.
Kirk Hooker ran solid today, spending most of the day in 4th, but finishing 6th.
Our man Racer43, Jay Doerr. Tough weekend for Jay having electrical issues in his LOSC race on Sat night, having to bow out, while leading, with 3 to go. In the 200, he was sent off for dropping fluid, and upon pitting, discovered gas line problems that ended his day.
