Delaware Speedway is asking for your help.  You may just be holding on to the answer that could take the track to the next level!

Have you ever wanted to help your home track?  Wanted share your ideas and passion for promoting the action at the track?  Wanted to hear the inside and behind the scenes story of Delaware Speedway?  This is your opportunity and we need your help!

Track PR director John Houghton will be in the VIP Lounge on Monday, May 27 at 8:00 pm hosting a presentation and roundtable session with people passionate about Delaware Speedway.  The focus of the discussion will be exploring the current ways the track promotes its racing and look at different ideas for introducing racing to new spectators who have never had the opportunity to experience it before.

There has never been a presentation and discussion like this in the history of Delaware Speedway!

When: Monday, May 27 at 8:00 pm

What: Presentation from the track & round table discussions exploring ideas for introducing new fans to Delaware Speedway

Where: Delaware Speedway VIP Lounge (Enter through VIP / Season Pass Holders gate, come to the second floor of the broadcast tower)

Who can attend: Loyal fans of Delaware Speedway’s racing.  Drivers / crew members are welcome to attend as well.

While I applaud your interest in engaging the fan, the responsibility of promoting is that of the promoter.. what can he or she do ?

Why are they not listed as the host of the meeting, do they actually care?

The track is the promoter. I believe with the new ownership group that they have brought this function back in house. Having a face to face, back and forth instead of online is actually a great idea IMO. I for one will try to be there.

Trust me i agree with you, face to face interaction is great.. but all that is listed here is the announcr.  If this is to be a colabiritive event we need all of the players at the table and an firm business plan needs to be annouced. Agsin I applaude you John for your efforts: but you are not in a position to make decision.

Maybe it is time to sell not only the speedway, but the land as well?

This is a pretty good summary of the idea behind this actually.  There are many fans that are with us each and every week who I think will find the presentation part of this really interesting (think of it as a bit of a behind the scenes look) and moving from there a round table discussion of ideas.

The closest we've come to having a discussion with the fan base is through the annual fan survey.  This is an extension of that, but in an in-person conversation.  We meet with drivers every season, why not fans? (Incidentally, drivers are welcome to come, but the focus of this discussion will be fan-based.)

Somebody asked me earlier, 'why now'?  I think the real question is 'why not sooner'?  I hope to see lots of people out.

Kee-rash.

That was the sound of Trev dropping the ball on this thing. I meant to put the call out on Friday night here, but a crazy weekend of work got in the way.

Yes we will be having a fan "round table" sort of discussion at the track on Monday night...as in tomorrow. 8pm in the VIP lounge.

Bottom line here is that Delaware as a business entity sort of had to reboot itself from scratch as of last season. Now they are looking at the fan experience itself, through the eyes of we the fans, and they've asked us to come forward and share our thoughts with them, and perhaps brainstorm a few ideas.

Its easy to be cynical about it, but it is my, and the track's, hope that we can actually help them create an even better fan experience.

I know many of us have chirped away about how we think things should go, or bemoan the things we don't like. Now is the chance to do it face to face, and to open ears. The Speedway can learn much from us, and I've been assured that we fans will be doing some learning too. Its their intention to share with us the reasons for some of the things they do as well.

I think it'll be an interesting and informative evening, and I really hope some of you can join us.

If you love the speedway like I do, you just want to see it do well. They've asked for our help, so its time to answer the call I'd say.

I hope to see you all tomorrow night!

Trev
