I don't give the fuel ain't cheap argument much weight. Our team DEFINATELY doesn't have the budget of at least half the Delaware field judging by their equipment and we ALWAYS come down from Kawartha at least once a year. I think its more of the weight penalties. We don't really need any Delaware cars to fill the field as I bet we will be pushing 35 cars, but it would be nice to see some of the top guys from all 4 Ontario LM tracks there. I'll guess 22-25 KD regs, two or three from CCS with a few specials only runners. It is a non-points event for the McColl LM series as well so maybe above 35 but really doubt it.
I'm from the Mosport, Peterborough, Kawartha area. So, I do get around to the Sunset, Barrie, Flammy area alot, and up to sauble speedway once or twice a year. Usually a few dirt races a year at Merritville, brighton, and to some around the weedsport area like rolling wheels and cayuga county fairgrounds. Like i said, I've been to the track before, but i had forgotten how perfect the facility is.
It was the best race i've been at all year long, no question. The quality of the 34 or 35 late models that took green were as good as it gets anywhere in North America. The track was simply fantastic. Concessions, cleanliness, washrooms, pay by visa debit or cash at a quick moving front gate, bank machine inside the track, the announcing was PRN worthy, the overall facility was without flaw. I've been to this track before, but i guess i had forgotten how good it is. I'll be back. It felt like i was at a race that mattered. Really well done Deleware.
Things i noticed.
Urlin is nuts........great car, he can drive, but he's lost his marbles.......the crowd HATES him
Kennington, Roblee, Sheridan, Kennedy, and some i'm forgetting, don't get enough credit.
Doer finishes fourth with what i thought was a motor going south....the man is patience.
Brandon finishes second by being patient all day.
Im sure there's more, but all I know is I'll be back and I may camp next time.
I assume thats you Kelly? Im glad you had a good time down here. Your right the facility is second to none and you will enjoy next year even more if come and camp. We always have a blast out back on Friday night, some all weekend, but I cant do that to myself and expect to run on sunday.
