The Super Stock class will be racing for some extra cash when it comes to their event this Saturday which runs alongside the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Delaware Speedway has authorized a prize money increase of over $2,000 for the special 50-lap event which now pays $1,000 to win.

The Super Stocks are scheduled to time trial first on the day at 4:30 pm. The field for the 50-lap feature race will be set based on those time trials and a one dice plus six car inversion. The feature race will be run at 6:00 pm.

The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series time trials are at 5:15 pm. 7:00 pm is an autograph session for the drivers, 8:30 is the scheduled green flag for the main event.

Advanced tickets are available through the speedway website, www.delawarespeedway.com. The advanced price discount is only available until Tuesday, June 2. Reserved seating for the Nascar Canadian Tire series race is five seats away from a sellout, General Admission to the main grandstands and spectator hill is still available.

Tickets also remain available for Friday’s Auto-Value Super Sprint event. Gates for that race open at 6:00 pm, racing begins at 8:00 pm. The event also features Delaware’s POWERADE Open-Wheel Modifieds and Demar Aggregates trucks.

A free pre-race party is scheduled this week at Crabby Joe’s in Strathroy on Thursday, June 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. NASCAR Canadian Tire Series drivers confirmed to attend include last week’s race winner in Quebec, Dave Whitlock, along with DJ Kennington, Joey Hanssen and Jason Hathaway. Kennington and Hanssen’s cars will be on display. Race fans are welcome to stop by, visit with the drivers, collect autographs and take photos.

Just make sure you get there at 6 to see the show. They advertised an 8 o clock start on the Delaware sked.

This culled from a different thread, just because it fits here:

I am especially interested in the SS only seen them in action once before.

What is expected?

Looking forward to the weekend

Heh...well thats just the thing. We've been rained on so much and we've raced so little that no patterns have yet begun to emerge. 11- Lidster is extremely fast this year, as is the 2 car, thus far driven by Dan Prudhomme. Expect Ray Morneau to be in the thick of things. He's always been consistently fast, but has been caught up in a lot of mishaps.

Wild cards would have to be 99-Nagy, and 51-Rabideau. Rabideau was poised to win the last feature, and had it in the bag before suffering an untimely flat tire during a caution break.

Might also be able to expect a few part time wild cards like Dave Silverthorn Jr to be in attendance as well - but don't hold me to it.

As a rule we've been starting about 22 cars, and thus far most features have included a fair bit of mayhem, so really, its anyone's race.

Stay tuned...and double check the days itinerary - that SS race is quite a while before the rest of the program begins.

Reguarding the comment of nobody not seeing the race because they have advertised 8PM.I presume the track will change that message for starting times of everything on Sat.(Time Trials Racing ETC) for everything. As for 8 PM start the race is actually to start at approx 8:30 P.M. after driver intro for 8:05 P.M. (listed on Delaware site for schelude).Would not surprise me if these times will be posted in London Free Press sometime this up coming week.
Only question I have is why post race for 8:30 Pm when you have all day Sat. to have this event why not a  after noon event as remember other tracks will be going Sat. night and if not mistaken Flamboro has first leg of Grisdale Series for Late Models on Sat.night and if not mistaken game 5 of Stanley Cup Playoffs is set for Saturday June 6th @ 8P.M. (if necessary).Lets just hope for good weather & big crowd (both fans & car count)

I would think if you dig up the itinerary for the day (it's buried on the website) you will see that there is allot going on in one day. As for Grisdale Triple Crown races last year I was at every race and the biggest draw for fans we ever witness was around 275. Hockey is for guys who can't remember which way too turn a bolt to loosen it (just kidding) the hockey fans may or may not come hard to say. I'm gunna hold out and say the place will be full all day.
