but theres no point cause we cannot keep up!

No big deal if you can't keep ;D and whats keeping up? We ran 12th, 13th, and 18th (dnf) in our Flamboro car. We had a blast and my driver learned a thing or two. We got too race against some great teams and met up with some old friends. I'd say that's keeping up 😉

haha we see keeping up differently I think! I don't tow 4 hours to run 13th.

As per nascar points you cant impose a time limit on races. I believe they have to run a certain number of laps to be deemed official. I understand the arguments for the Mods but it comes down to the simple fact. No one (minus Brooks he's in the minority) will make money racing at the level these drivers are at. So does the extra 3 - 400 dollars a night help out for tire bills and such? of course it does, but it will not in most cases make or break a race season. If people in this market really wanted to race mods they would race mods and not late models. Its not hard to tell that Late Model racing is far more popular than mod racing. Look at Speed TV. when they are not showing a dirt show they generally will show a Late Model show, maybe a couple mod races here and there but its usually some kind of late model that is broadcast on the TV. When it fits their schedule and they get the 50 - $100,000 it costs to televise the Mod tour races they will do so, but the same goes for the East and West Series. Personally I like mod racing. But there is only so much you can do, we can all get on here discuss ways to save the program, what needs to be done, what should be done right now and so on and so forth. At the end of the day it comes down to the guy that has the, as its been said here, 10 - 50 grand a year to run a mod.

Delaware is a business like any other in the entertainment industry. If you are the President or CEO of a hockey team and you have a player making 6.7 million dollars a year and hes not producing over 60 points you are probably going to tell your general manager to look into getting rid of him. He's not selling merchandise and he's not helping your team make the playoffs which in the NHL is the only way a team (outside of Canada) can make a profit. Its a similar situation for Delaware Arlen sees the Mods as a poor investment. If they are losing money at the pay out window because of the poor back gate entrance from that division I don't blame them for considering axing the division.

As for offering the drivers money to move up or down that makes a lot of sense to me. I don't understand why you would be insulted, just feel grateful that what ever division you are in is not having this happen to it, because i'm sure based on your post that the $1000 wouldn't really help much in securing a new car in a higher division. Why would Arlen offer money to move into the division he wants to get rid of? Why would he offer money to leave the endurance division that is struggling for car counts, or the trucks that are looking like they may go down in numbers, or to move into the street stock division which as it is right now night in and night out Delawares best racing division?

I know the drivers who race the modifieds are not going to be happy no matter what happens. However, I think everyone needs to take a step back and consider that just two short years ago and many times before that it was uncertain as to whether or not Delaware would be in operation the comming season. Delaware is coming back, with 3 full time Friday night classes and a modified class running on a reduced number of dates. The track has made leaps and bounds in the past year as far as improvements and based on the rumor mill there are even more to come. So consider yourselves lucky that you have a place to race at and do what you love, whether you have the car to beat every night or the car that gets beat every night, you get to do what you love every single week during the summer.
