The trouble with having a mini-stock invitational would be if nobody shows up. Guys would say they're coming, but guys might get torn up the night before or not wish to travel due to the price of gas or whatever really, and then you're in almost the same situation as yesterday.

There were about 29 cars at Varney, I think like 12-15 out of towners...so yesterday ppl were travelling...

So, forgive me for asking, but what exactly did they do with the chaos cars? Was it like match racing or something?

I always thought they ran em all together. That's the Chaos part.

I always thought they ran em all together. That's the Chaos part.

Shadow - - identical format to the "exhibition day", one-on-one double elimination.  We elected not to run them all at once, as the pit road area that is often used in the courses was in use and typically more cars means more carnage which we were trying to avoid.  The thinking was that if the cars run in a match race they will be less likely to have a problem.

My thinking (even as Chaos director) is that the APC 300 is not an ideal fit for the class and we will be taking that into consideration for '09.  The Chaos Cars have played very well before enduro events & at the end of Friday events enjoying great success in those time slots.  Running the cars all at once has proven to be <<much>> more fun then running them one at a time - - however in spite of the one-on-one event, the drivers did report enjoying yesterday's event, as did many fans I spoke to.

It is worth noting that the Chaos race was a dramatic improvement from last year's intermission, during which nothing was on the track.  Whatever ends up in that time slot is designed to provide the invader / visiting drivers with turn around time.  Although the Chaos show may not have been for everyone, most people I spoke to took something enjoyable out of it.  Always taking the feedback as we prepare next year's schedule as to what the best solution is to that time slot.

I'm glad to see some people making their first trip out to the speedway.  It's always great to hear things from a fresh perspective.

All the best in the remainder of the season,

I dunno..like I said in my first post I thought the Caous Cars were intersting....just it got boring fast...1 race would have been better.

but I totally understand the points about trying not to mess the track up to badly.

I still would rather see another division involved...or run King Of The Hill, I know Delaware always gets a ton of KOTH drivers..so maybe limit it to 30 drivers or so, that way it should last around 30 mins or so and give the time needed for the LM drivers.

King of the Hill is actually a really good idea for that time slot
