Sheridan was parked a few years ago for trying to run over Lindsays crew in the pits.... at least it appeared that way. he nearly got one of my guys. We were pitted beside Scott that night. Not for rough driving on the track. Scott was the one rough driving on the track Ron thought.... obviously
SAUBLE 150 LAPS MAYBE 4 CAUTIONS WITH MOSTLY DELAWARE DRIVERS IN ATTENDANCE...GOOD HARD RACING.......KIRK WAS BEING POLITICALLY CORRECT A RARITY FOR HIM....I AGREE WITH DANNY ALSO 9 NIGHTS AT NEW SMYRNA AND WE REPLACED RIGHT FENDER ONLY (REPAIRED LEFT FENDER IN 'O8)

Sorry I just meant they have parked drivers in the past not necessarly for the same thing just that it had happened before and that there is no crime in doing it again.
No need to be sorry. I agree 100%
I was reading awhile back a column in Speedway Illustrated by Dick Bergeren on how to make a successful track. It was interesting in that is is not all the owners doing. He mentioned all have to work at this. We seem to have a great owner now at Delaware who has put his money where his mouth is and fixed up the track and continues to do so. Look at some of the other broken promises form other track owners. We seem to have good officials that try very hard. I am only a fan, so I can't judge what goes on in the pits or on the track. We have the best latemodels in the country, bar none and the the other divisions are top also. Very entertaining. We have great fans that stick by the track and are very loyal. A rarity in this world of seemingly massive entertainment. Delaware seems to have it all.
Why then do we (fans, competiters, etc) seem to want to bring this down every year. Take a look around and see what tracks are gone. I have been going to races for 50 years and you know, this year seem to be a breakout year for Delaware. More cars then ever in a bad economy. How many tracks can say that? Don't get me wrong, I know there are always issues that crop up. What I get tired of is competitors and fans taking public shots like they do at the track. If they don't run well or are caught up in incidents, it's the tracks fault it seems. I realize there are some more agressive drivers out there. Always has been the case. Maybe the drivers now need to police themselves
somewhat.
I just dont' want to see a good thing go bad. When I see drivers that don't show up because of "issues", I think they don't care. What happens when the fans say "I don't really care either" and stop coming out. None of us want to see that happen.
Again, look again at what we have at Delaware. How many tracks can make it go weekly, successfully, with arguably the toughest, deepest most competitive fields anywhere.
