Reguarding statement by Shadowracer APC300 Wrap up Reply #23 GRR ( Delaware GRR site ) You stated  what Mr. Cressman was saying was utterly B.S. Sorry I cannot agree with you.All he was saying that if Delaware wanted a NCTS race they had better start working on it NOW or you (Delaware ) will not get one.If Delaware thinks NCTS will come to them I would say they are probably wrong.NCTS will give Delaware a chance but if they ( Delaware ) do not take the chance to talk. I would say forget it for another couple years
P.S. Would you(Owner of a track ) have a chance to attract 10,000 fans or approx 4,000 from Sundays Race. Which would you take I think I know which way I would go

That's assuming you have unlimited pockets, and that you like seeing less than half the cars you saw on Sunday...

That'd depend what I'm paying out for the honor of having someone that will draw 10,000 fans.

Personally though, I think they used to blow up the numbers. I don't think Delaware has EVER seen 10,000 fans.

Maybe I wasn't clear in that other post. What I was objecting to was the "the fans deserve it" attitude. Like somehow us fans are being done disservice by not having a NASCAR race...as if whats going on here won't ever be good enough without NASCAR. THAT I feel is BS and I stand behind that.

Is NASCAR awesome? Yes. I went and watched the show at Cayuga and was utterly blown away.

Does Delaware NEED NASCAR? I say, emphatically, no.

There's a couple of stummbling blocks in all this.

NCTS said fix the track, fix the walls or we won't come.....How much does that cost. It won't happen overnight.

How many ticket do you absolutely need to sell to cover the cost of a NCTS race?? Around $60,000 or more US is what I heard being bounced around. It would take alot of organizing, time and effort to pull it off and make it successful. I just don't think the resources are there to do it.

BTW...Is it just me or do I feel NCTS is trying to put on a little pressure? I wonder if some of the tracks they raced at are really happy with the product they brought? Not neccessarily the quaility but the return on the investment. There have been rumblings. Maybe they (the tracks) might be renegotiating the price with Nascar or even rethinking the need for an event. Nascar has always been about the money, it's fair to say promoters need to be wary. I don't think anyone should jump in until the get debreifed by other tracks. Hey, another reason the tracks all need to get on the same page.

And remember, lesson #1, make sure your rules are just different enough that your the only game in town the kids can take their equipment and play. Otherwise, your not the only game, and you don't have the power.

I wonder, let Nascar set it's schedule and then have a NCTS Spec. invitational. Setup the rules to match the Nascar spec. and invite them down (the teams) to have a race.

I guess you'd find out pretty quick if Nascar was there for the drivers or the money???? Or maybe the teams might just think  it's undermining what they are trying to do on their way to the big league.
