Hello All,

This Sunday (April 18) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm I will be supervising an open Ultimate Sandblasting Chaos Car practice / shakedown session.  Gates open at 1:30 pm, single car runs begin at 2:00 pm.  Practice is included with vehicle registration ($25 for the year) - - forms will be available at the back gate.  This is also a great day to drop by if you've ever been curious about the class and getting involved.  If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call (519) 614-7010 or e-mail me at john@delawarespeedway.com.

Our rulebook is available here: http://www.delawarespeedway.com/2010rules/ChaosCars2010_v1.pdf.   This year will be the third season for the Ultimate Sandblasting & Coating Chaos Cars and will be the first season that a prize structure will be in place at all events.  Thanks to everyone for their ongoing support of this program!

All the best,

-John Houghton

Fun day for the Ultimate Sandblasting & Coating Chaos Car drivers who were able to make it out.  Many of the drivers I contacted were still getting their cars ready or had a prior commitment today including Blue Thunder, Red Baron and Born Again among others.  The ones that did make it out got a good share of track time.

Snotty (the new version of 'SnotRod') had a hard start to the day.  First up on the course had a tough entry into a barrel turn and hit the inside wall hard enough to bend up some of the front end.  He was able to drive back to the pits but opted to make repairs at home.  The second car in this group 'Snuggy' was not ready for testing today.

Undertaker had some fuel issues throughout the day - - similar to the issues at the season finale last year.  The situation improved dramatically at the end of the afternoon.

Lucifer was the most consistent on the day - - she was also able to get the most runs in on the track since her newly prepared vehicle was running perfectly.  Only knocked over a handful of barrels learning her way around the Chaos Course.  Here's a video of an early run before she got up to full speed.  Take a photo, the vehicles don't usually look this good at the end of the season:

I'd like to thank the drivers who made it out this afternoon, as well as the former team SnotRod for their help with the obstacle course today.  Best of luck in enduro!

The Ultimate Sandblasting & Coating Chaos will kick off their third season of competition on opening day - - Saturday, May 1, 2010 with the Transmission Direct Enduro.  Gates open at 1:00 pm, racing starts at 2:00 pm.

I think it was halfway through the first season that we started having vehicles on their first start always start at the back.  The way we did it at nearly every race last year was in order of points.  This usually made for a clean start and a good run into the first obstacle.

While you did get a pretty good look at the course, I have not yet announced the lineup procedure - - that generally comes out with the format for the day.
